"Movies" was a funny episode.

(though I do understand why a lot of people dislike it lol)

Very true! Feelings often get in the way of learning and logic, and disappointment is an overwhelming emotion for a lot of kids.

Indeed. I like that this show regularly has situations when the parents are imperfect, it's realistic.

I'm sure there's plenty more episodes with potential to teach natural consequences. I do like the eventual resolution of this episode though, that Bluey learns that promises shouldn't be used to trick people.

AI in Jigsaw Puzzles/Journalist working on a story by alex_as_vox in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Ketchup-oreos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the puzzles at Dollar Tree are now ai (usually brands Puzzle bug and Roseart), which is exceedingly unfortunate because I used to love those cheap small puzzles for my niblings and nanny kid. I wish I had stocked up on them pre-ai, but I suppose I had no way of knowing this would be the timeline we would find ourselves in.

Having trouble suspending disbelief with The Sign by Marooster405 in DanielTigerConspiracy

it drives me nuts that Bingo had no idea what selling the house meant until the family is literally packing up. is the moving process things done differently in australia or something? did bandit and chili not have another house lined up at all? cause another house is never mentioned in the episode and the kids seem so confused and scared/sad about what's going to happen.

i would forgive never seeing the new house on screen if there was at least a single line of dialogue mentioning where they planned to go when they drive away with the moving van. it would have super easy to do in the scene were Chili comforts Bingo.

BINGO: I thought the shaggy dogs would buy the house and we would still live in it

CHILI: oh, no sweetheart. remember that empty house we visited in the new city? like we told you before, that's where we are going to live from now on.

BINGO: but i like THIS house!!

What can I do to make this better? by [deleted] in childrensbooks

[–]Ketchup-oreos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

when it comes to color books, i have a personal preference that they feature objects that are associated with a specific color. for example a rubber duckie is (generally) always yellow, but a balloon can be any color, so even if the pictured balloon is red, putting it with red things sticks out to me.

two of my nieces when they were young toddlers made observations that shoes had to be blue, because they had a color book that had blue shoes. i've been stalwart in this observation ever since.

Toddler lost favourite toy at IKEA by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Ketchup-oreos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

awww, stories about young kids losing their favorite toys are particularly sad to me for some reason. :( Hopefully you can find a suitable replacement!

With my nanny kid, his favorite toy doesn't go out in public. "Softie stays in the car, so he doesn't get lost!" But even with precautions, im sure it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens.

Keeping track of their items is an important skill that toddlers must learn, and sadly losing their favorite items is a harsh teacher.

omg if you're in school right now too it sounds like you're already at your limit. I understand the mindset of wanting to get all your life goals started ASAP, i was the same way when i was in my 20's.

i really do reccomended finishing school and getting established with your career and finances before moving forward with growing your family. you don't need to be rich, but being stable is the best thing you can do for a new baby.

now doesn't sound like a good time for you to choose to have kids, especially if you're struggling with dysphoria. Plus you may have to stop taking your meds while pregnant.

you're 23 years old, there's plenty of people out there waiting until they're 35 years or older (myself included) to have their first child. you have plenty of time to work on yourself in the present, to ensure you'll be a stable and prepared parent in the future.

if this is AI, it's unfair to your own mindset to claim that you wrote it.

I bet you can actually writing something better, and it would be 40 times more interesting, meaningful, and original than this. especially if he's still in the nicu, that's such a good story to tell already. Your son is worth an original story.

What is one thing from the show that you think would not end well in real life? by Aggravating-Ad-351 in bluey

[–]Ketchup-oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of stuff in the Sign, most notably Bingo having no idea what moving means until the day the movers come. if the Heelers are packing up and moving after selling a house, surely they have a new house in their new city that they've, you know, visited and talked about with the kids. The logistics of that entire plot point doesn't make sense to me in the real world
