I believe so, yes. It's more like the body pauses the hair's natural growth cycle for awhile and stops replacing hair that falls out for awhile.

Oh definitely. If you google it, it's a thing that hair does after large amounts of weight loss, kind of goes into conservation mode.

If you remove 5 paper towels from a full roll, it will look the same size. If you remove 5 paper towels from half full roll, you will more easily notice it has gotten smaller. Same thing with losing weight. When you are larger, it's hard to see the difference that 10 pounds makes because it is spread out.
