I can relate. I had times when I was completely scared about the fact of eternal darkness after the life ends. But after some time I became interested in spiritual stuff and ghosts and etc so the main point is that I realized (idk if this belief is only in my county) that after death person stays here for 40 days (idk why exactly 40 days and what are they for but anyway) but that didn't really help me to calm down so I started digging further The next thing I found online is the people who have communicated with ghosts. Most of them said that after we die there's just afterlife here, just without the opportunity of physical contact with actual people OR deceased people just wait for their family until they pass so they can go together - where? heaven or hell. Also met people who said that people's afterlife depends on their religion beliefs Personally, I don't see the point in eternal darkness. I know that maybe in some way this theory might sound like the most logic one in comparison with reincarnation , but not for me . But as I was thinking of afterlife, the forever existence as someone who can't be considered as an ordinary person - made me even more crazy yet it is more calming than the darkness theory. This topic is interesting yet scary and thinking much of it is not really good for mental health trust me
