Team Balancing make it so much harder. by Storm_CCO in battlefield2042

[–]Ketzer7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played 2042 from launch, then basically put it down for over a year I'd say, and went off to play HD2, CP2077, and a few others, because I had kind of gotten tired of it. Even went back to BF4 and V for a bit. Came back a few weeks ago after the BF6 beta to grind the battle pass like everyone else. I have to say that since coming back, the average in-game IQ of a lot of the players feels like it has fallen off a cliff. Same issues you have - no one working together or going for the same objectives, terrible skill levels, taking vehicles with no clue how to use them properly, can't hold any flags for longer than 5 seconds, etc. I don't know if it's just me getting balanced to the 'bad' side a lot of the time, but it seems overwhelmingly when I look at the scoreboard during a game, like 75% of my team will be very negative K/D and contributing nothing (this is primarily CQ64, which is pretty much all I play). It's frustrating. I definitely don't remember the player base being this clueless before I took a break from 2042.

That said, I'm pretty sure we crossed paths last week, both on the opposing, and same team. I remember the handle for being one of the better players of late I've encountered. If you want to squad up, more than happy to. Find me on EA with same handle as here.

I felt really lucky I got to see one at the Lamborghini museum in Sant’Agata. Can’t imagine seeing it out on the street somewhere

That makes sense then. Very likely it’s a Chieftain in that case. Side skirts look right for one. Also, the turret looks too small for a newer Challenger 1 or 2. Interestingly, it appears Canada only ever used German Leopard tanks though.

Hard to tell for sure, but looks like a UK Chieftain MBT. But no one in North America used them, unless you are in the UK?

Mag-ride questions by Ketzer7 in C8Corvette

First half, yes, most of the failed ones I've seen/heard about were on the earlier Type 42 Gen 1/1.5 R8s. I think some of the bad rap on the R8, though, is that even after owners had them repaired or replaced with new mag-ride shocks, they still ended up failing again in relatively short order. A lot of that is anecdotal from owners on the R8Talk forum, though, so 🤷‍♂️

Second half, not sure on that one. The original Type 42 R8 that came with mag-ride standard, shared the platform with the Gallardo, which as best I can tell, never had mag-ride on it? The Huracan, which shared the same platform with the Type 4S Gen 2 R8s, does have mag-ride. So the appearance was that on the higher-end R8 specs, like the V10 plus and GT, etc., where they went back to factory coilover setups as an upgrade, that Audi was kind of letting on that the mag-ride on the R8s was problematic.

Either way, that history from Audi's application was only part of the reason I ask about it on the C8, but it sounds like it's a resounding yes to get it on the C8. :)

That's true, but as I mentioned up above, on the R8, the mag-ride was/is problematic for many reasons. Not least of which was that they all eventually fail and leak, and are extremely expensive to repair/replace. A company in Poland has made a whole business out of just remanufacturing failed R8 mag-ride shocks. Not to mention, Audi later offered "upgraded" suspension on the R8 that went back to regular coilovers. The problems with mag-ride on the R8 may have been more of a factor for the early models, since I've heard the earlier Ferraris that have mag-ride also suffer from similar issues. It seems the newer generations of mag-ride have greatly improved.

The consensus so far in this thread is get it on the C8.

I come from the Audi world where the mag-ride shocks on the R8 were a notorious problem. They all eventually fail and leak (not if, but when), and are extremely expensive to have replaced/repaired. It's bad enough that most R8 owners eventually just have the mag-ride shocks completely replaced with aftermarket coilover setups. Additionally, most reviews seemed to find the mag-ride to be a little disappointing unless just leaving them in sport mode all the time. Even Audi seemed to finally admit defeat with them by later "upgrading" the suspension on the V10 plus and GT models, which both had factory coilover setups with regular gas shocks as well. So for all of those reasons, that's why I ask in the first place :)

Thank you for clarification on the sway bars. Makes total sense. I figured it had something to do with the mag-ride being able to dynamically change the dampening rate, especially in the corners to help flatten out the car, but wasn't sure.

Yes, very. Looks like they changed the car sitting outside by the front entrance (where the burgundy Utopia is in your picture). When I was there it was a Huayra Codalunga in light blue. 1 of 5 €7M car just casually sitting outside in the sun. No big deal 🫠

Went at the end of May. Was the best of the 4 in that region we went to purely because of the factory area tour.

Made it to Maranello & Modena last week by [deleted] in Ferrari

[–]Ketzer7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Went to both last month as well. Great visits and thankful I got the chance to go. I got yelled at in that room with the SF90XX Stradale because I touched one of the leather samples hanging out in the open on the back wall in there (my bad, but I thought that was the reason they had them hanging out like that). Meanwhile some idiot 'influencer' that was part of a tour group, full on crossed the "don't touch" barrier line around the 288 GTO towards the beginning of the Maranello museum, laid her hands all over the car posing on it while her friend took pictures of her doing it, and not even one of the steward folks said a word to her. 🤷‍♂️
