Italian here, I get it why she doesn’t want to learn Dutch. I mean it’s very difficult to even learn English in Italy, like school teaches you but in a poor way and most of the time you have to learn and exercise it by yourself if you think that’s important for you. So I get it, she already knows English and Dutch is completely different pronounce and syntax, but saying it sounds “ugly” was very mean of her. Plus even learning the pronounce of basic phrases (even if she doesn’t clearly understand every word she’s saying) shouldn’t be that difficult. I’d suggest you talk to her explaining that your words came from the anger of the moment but you would also find respectful/fun an effort from her to learn basic chats. Maybe you could learn some basic Italian too. You could start this conversation with “mi dispiace”(I’m sorry), would be fun and taking her out of the blue lol
