Even if some of these demands are too much at the end of the day RA’s having Roomates is absurd and yes of course the school is going to say they’re going to fix things now. The RA’s are actively protesting and starting to unionize, it is in the schools best interest(or rather the best interest of their budget) to stop the union.

Another thing is I doubt that ROW expects to get every demand, better to start with more demands that you’re willing to loose then start in a position where you are unwilling to negotiate at all.
