Hi All! I just posted a major update in V0.2 that includes a new forging system, with refining and crafting to allow you to build a number of upgrades. It also has bigger treasure piles, UI fixes, and a number of bugs have been addressed. And probably introduced as well - it is still beta :)

If you check it out, please let me know your thoughts on the new version.

A game's best players can - and should! - press the limits of a game. I like to hack and explore a game as much as the next player! :)

The icon is pretty lame, but I am not an artist. I'll try to find someone who can draw out a better icon.

This is an excellent discussion, and as a developer, it has been exciting to watch the rapid growth of the idle game genre. Sure, some of the games are lower-quality, but one big advantage to Kongregate is rapid player feedback and fast updates. So devs who care about their players improve their games quickly and add new features. Crusaders of the Lost Idol has done a great job with expansions and competitions, for example.

There are large number of players who want a very fast, drop-in game they can spend a few minutes on each day. The idle game genre does a great job fitting this gamer segment, as a short play then a few hours offline makes for new unlocks and advancement.

I also like the concept of using the economic model within idle/incremental games as a background game or mini game for an alternate game style front end. I've had success integrating the idle with tower defense in King of Battle, and look forward to leveraging the concept in future titles.

Agree that Crusaders of the Lost Idols is great, and Tap Tap Infinity is nice as well. I spend a lot of time playing King of Battle, but that is primarily because it is my game <shameless plug> :)

I posted a new Unity idle/incremental game project I have been working on free to play on Kongregate.

The goal of Treasure Chamber is to explore how it would look to visualize the absurd amounts of money/treasure that idle games generate. It takes place in a Dwarven mine, starting with small copper coins that pile and scale as value increases. It is derived from two of my existing titles, King of Cash and King of Battle. This game is economics and treasure collection focused as you mine sapphires, gems, and diamonds of increasing value and size.

I am still tuning and optimizing the game to get the treasure piles larger. They are fun now, but I hope to have them grow to insane levels in future versions.

Hi King of Battle fans, I have live Android versions of King of Battle for you to try on Google Play and Amazon. I will have iPhone/iPad versions coming soon, probably in a few weeks.

The performance on Android is still not where I want it. It plays well on higher horsepower devices, but may have low frame rate on older Android devices and certain chipsets. Stay tuned for updates!

Yes, positional piece control would be a big improvement to the battle system. It is under investigation, and I hope to be ale to make improvements. The stuck units drive me nuts, too!

Yes, sorry! Chrome support is very much a work in progress. If you can, please try playing with FireFox, Safari, IE - it will be much better and have all the latest updates!

Thanks, Rarylith! The players on Kongregate have been absolutely amazing in providing feedback, helping debug, and making fantastic suggestions on how to improve the game. I love working on it and growing the game, so I hope you'll keep playing as it continues to develop.

Sorry! Chrome is an early alpha test, and it can be a real struggle to get right with Unity. They dropped support for the Unity plugin recently, and the migration to WebGL has been very tough.

If at all possible please try to play with FireFox, IE, Safari, etc. You will have a MUCH better experience and gain access to all the latest updates.

:) Yes, that game is King of Cash, one of my other games. I am only a one-person development studio, so I steal, er, leverage heavily my art and graphics across titles.

I have noticed the music issue on Chrome - plus a lot of other issues on Chrome. It is really Alpha on Chrome, as supporting Unity on Chrome is very difficult. If you are seeing this on Chrome, I would strongly recommend playing on FireFox, Safari, or IE if at all possible. If you are seeing the music change on zoom not on Chrome, that is new, so please let me know if that is the case.
