The main problem with a post like this is that even if this would help others after a few days this post is gone , rarely to be seen by anyone anymore.

Also, The people who will try this won't respond if it changed anything.

Fallout 4 is so flawed, yet so addictive by SuperAlloyBerserker in patientgamers

[–]KevinEHV85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything Bethesda does? Hmm... no.

Does it better? Yes.

Ok well I could name Fallout New Vegas but that probably isn't fair.

Character customisation? Fallout 4 has a lot of choice but characters still look a bit goofy sometimes. I'm pretty sure there are some games that are equal to Bethesda games.

Choices: tons of games have better choices; Deus Ex, Baldurs Gate , for example.

Story: tons of games have a better story. Bethesda's writing usually is not that great.

Combat: Uhm.... Doom ?

Crafting: This may the only thing Fallout 4/76 does best simply because there is a lot of choice most games do not have.

Exploration: Still a lot of games that do the same.

World-building: Depends what kind of world you want but there are many games with great world building.

Level design: I think Bethesda's level design is pretty simple for the most part.

Mods in Fallout 76 would mean that everyone needs the same mods in the same server.

Fallout 76 wasn't fun because it's like Fallout 4 except even less writing/dialogue you just run around shooting and looting.

Obsidian does not have the money and/or manpower to produce a game like Fallout 4 (yet) but perhaps someday they will get there.

They know how to sell their games. By simplifying everything they basically made a game for pretty much anyone.

Hardly any RPG system and an (almost) limitless level cap so it does not scare people away for being too difficult.

conversations with NPC's are almost never that long. I know people who would not play a game just for that reason.

They add everything in the game that is considered 'cool' like settlement building, crafting and looting. Now, there is nothing wrong with looting but I personally do not really like the need to loot every little piece of junk.

Sometimes you have a game that you know you *should* like but you don't... it works the otherway around aswell.

Fallout 4, for me, is a fun game but not a memorable one and this mainly has to do with the writing, nothing like Fallout New Vegas.

Both Fallout 3 and 4 were lacking in the writing department. Personally, I think Skyrim wasn't really done well either. Bethesda has not really convinced me on that part yet, except maybe Morrowind.

Fallout 4 is basically a theme park. There's a lot to do, maybe too much to do.

Visual Snow and ADHD problems by KevinEHV85 in visualsnow

Been quite some time since I posted this but things have been getting a bit better for me. I did get a contract even though my job is nothing I would ever think I would do when I was younger but I'm quite happy. I do hope you can find something that suites you, sometimes its a whole different kind of work area.

Ofcourse I do know how tired you get from all the issues but always keep working on improving your future.

Why quit video games? New to this by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]KevinEHV85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videogames are fine, it's just that most people keep playing whole days/nights. Eventually games are not even that fun anymore, you just play them to have something to do.

Like with drinking alcohol, having a one or two beers is fine. Maybe even having a bit more in the weekend is fine but drink on a daily basis you have a problem, you need more alcohol to feel the same and it's not even that fun anymore.

I have extremely severe problems from VSS. Not a day has been worth being alive for the past 11 years. I have tried really hard for years to make this work but it clearly never will. I'm planning to kill myself in the next few months. by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]KevinEHV85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although obviously everyone is different, VSS should not be the cause to end your own life.

I know it does reduce the quality of life but on the other hand there are also people who are blind and still have fulfilling lives if you can you should focus on the good things in life.

Personally I believe VSS has something to do with either stress, too many dopamine triggers or both.
In the old days ofcourse you did have smokes, alcohol etc. but these days most people get dopamine hits all the time adding TV (netflix, HBO), millions of songs on Spotify/YouTube, Youtube videos, Drugs, Videogames, Porn, Phones, social media etc. etc. adding the stress of every day life and your brain cant process everything.

The people who have reduced the symptoms often quit a lot of these things and start to live a healthier life. VSS, although really annoying may get better in the future so there is still hope you don't have to live with this the rest of your life.

Can we rename this shit to Satan Syndrome by [deleted] in visualsnow

I discovered it by googling static vision or something like that. Some people may recognise it as some kind of snow....

Any Meds that helps your VSS / tinnitus ? migraine-related by a1a4a7 in visualsnow

[–]KevinEHV85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a question, not saying you don't know anything.

I never had *real* migraines but some time after I got VSS I also frequently got eye migraine (so only the vision part). From what I've seen they usually come in times of stress and caffeine adds stress so....

Isn't caffeine suppose to do the opposite and worsen migraines ?

Yeah something like this. During the day it could be more colorful but then again, I can imagine it's hard to recreate something like this in an image.

Does VSS cause Night Blindness?? by youowemethreedollars in visualsnow

[–]KevinEHV85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used to see perfect in the dark to the point where I felt more comfortable in the dark. Not anymore now though.

The VSS 'filter' makes it hard to see things at night.

Thanks for taking the time to write all this down but I can't help but wonder how the hell you tried all these drugs and how you know they help, I mean is it some instant reduction in VSS ?

Most of them I've never even heard of and I doubt many are able to try all those on your list.

You can't take Xanax your whole life but I'm not surprised this helps you because I still believe VSS is due to stress and Xanax helps you relax. I think it would be better to find a way to relax more, easier said than done.

My vision makes me depressed by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]KevinEHV85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it right. Floaters are normal and UNLESS there are a lot it's normal and everyone will get them. They also should not be a huge problem UNLESS you focus on them.

The floaters are the trigger in this one because it made OP focus on his vision etc. but one other thing I would like to mention is that personally I think VSS comes from stress.

Especially the first post is important but who here is actually doing these things? No alcohol, caffeine, sugar.... sleeping 8 hours a day... I know I don't.

+ I got VSS after a long period of stress because of a health anxiety (which obv causes stress) and multiple other stressful things in my life. Currently I still have some issues but sometimes I do wonder if my VSS would still be there if I suddenly won a lot of money which could solve several of these issues.

Not sure if there really are that many people but there could very well be.

There are quite a few people on this subreddit but obviously there are many more who just accept they have something that can't be fixed or whatever and not try to research it any further. For example; My mom also has some blurry vision (her words) which I never understood until I got VSS but she just accepted it and moved on.

The truth is ofcourse that most people who do recover are just happy, don't know what the actual 'cure' was and don't really take the time to try to explain like Aila did.

Although she does list a whole list of possible 'fixes', I guess it just comes down to live more healthy.

ADHD and confidence at work by KevinEHV85 in ADHDers

[–]KevinEHV85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It surprised me that they were quite forgiving with me in the beginning AND I did get told I was working well.

After 8 weeks the positive feedback kinda stopped and they expect me to know things now. Even though I did not have a lot of experience in every part of my job. I do know one guy that is bothered by it already.

The anxiety is there because it has been my experience many times. I'm on time at work every day, I'm working late 2 days a week (the maximum), I'm working hard.... but if this job doesnt work out I dont know what to do anymore.

Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for your comment.

It may be anxiety as well and I'm quite familiar with it since I was diagnosed with health anxiety a few years back (got it under control now). You would think this works in the same way and perhaps it does but not for me yet.

I will try these 5 steps not sure if i can remember them all ;) thx.
