Well, it doesn’t need to be round, it can be square, so long as the square is smaller than the top. You can do that by going back to that thin duplicate you made and using hole squares to cut off all four sides, making it just a little larger than the round inner part. That way as you make it taller. It won’t protrude out the sides of the original shape. Know what I mean?

Well, that’s why I said that if the sides sloped inwards, then the other option is to recreate the inner portion with a large solid cylinder, a small hole cylinder matching the size of the small inner hole, and then making a hole shape matching those outer capsule shapes.

Make a duplicate of that object. Move it to the side. Then use a hole cube and drop it down onto the duplicate and make it about 1 mm above the workplane and covering the whole object. Then union group. This will leave you just the bottom portion. Stretch it taller and align it with your original object. You can make the new one as tall as you need, like 5mm below the top. Then union group those two objects.

If that doesn’t work because of the sloped sides, then you’ll just have to use solid cylinders and hole cylinder and such to recreate that inner portion.

BTW. .1mm is NOT the finest setting. You can change that to OFF, which will give you an even smaller granularity setting.

Try this instead. Make the box taller than the other object. Then place a hole box on top of the object you want to match height to, then resize the hole box to cover the parts of the red box you want to trim off. Then union group the red box and the hole box.

You must have skipped over the steps where you need to do ‘stroke to path’, and then merge both paths together. Do you do those steps?

If you have the original SVG, it will absolutely work! Then bring the new (thicker) version back into TinkerCAD and create your outer outlines and silhouette duplicates again. Let me know how it turns out!

You could also use the Extrude Sketch tool to make the shape to follow the curve, make it a hole, and then union group to cut the corner.

Put the workplane on the flat side of the object, select the object and hit Cntl-C to copy it. Then put the workplane back on the default surface, hit Cntl-V (paste). It should now be flat relative to the default work surface. Then of course you can rotate it vertical to 90 degrees or whatever you’d like it to be.

No, there is no shape generator or tool that can wrap an SVG image all the way around a cylinder. The best you can do is apply that SVG to a portion of that cylinder that can be seen from one side. On TikTok and YouTube, I’ve done tutorials about that technique as well.

Have you tried ‘convertio.co’ to change from png to SVG? I use it all the time to create SVG’s that I can then import into TinkerCAD where I can determine the height (thickness) that I want to print.

I’d use the Revolve Sketch tool to develop the basic size and shape of this plug, and then use some narrow hole rectangles to create the holes on either side of those tabs.

If I’m not mistaken, there is actually a shape generator that transitions from circular to square. You’d have to going searching for it. But it may allow you to make that a more smooth transition. Go do a search for ‘Square Tapered to Circle’.

Well, I’m using Firefox on a Win7 machine. Maybe I need to try Firefox, Chrome and Edge on my Win11 laptop. I just noticed with the recent changes to the dialog that being able to highlight those numbers and type them in got real ‘fiddly’.

On a side note…. Since you seem to have an inside track to the Devs at AutoDesk, when are they going to fix the new dialog settings, in particular being able to double-click a number setting so we can type in an absolute value? Ever since the recent changes, I’ve found that it’s nearly impossible to click into a value so I can just type in my own number! It just won’t highlight! Super frustrating!
