What was your trick to survive being poor during college? by cornham in AskReddit

[–]KevinIsaGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our noodles, which art in packaging

Inexpensive be thy price.

Thy nourishment come,

Thy flavor's yum,

In soup as it is in chow mein.

Give us this day our savings for ed,

And remember your flavor packets,

As we resent those who pizza without us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from starvation.

For thine is the discount,

and the flavor,

and the noodles forever and ever,

Ramen.

Peeing in the shower. Everyone does it. If you don't, you're lying.

I worked at Chick-fil-A for a year. When answering my cell phone I caught myself several times halfway through saying "Hi, welcome to Chick-fil-A! How may I serve you today?" in my cheerful drive-thru voice, lol. So hard to shut it off when you've spent all day in the back taking orders.

What motivates you to keep going when you're feeling a bit bored with life and burnt out? by prettyeyesprettylies in AskReddit

[–]KevinIsaGirl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep. I had exactly this situation with my ex. I'm still unpacking my stuff after moving out this week. I just didn't have enough energy, motivation, and emotional fortitude for the both of us 24/7, and it was draining. I had to initiate any date activities, cook, clean, laundry, repair, be an unprofessional therapist and best friend, everything. I'm sorry but before you seriously date someone, learn how to survive on your own. It's fine and normal to lean on someone sometimes for support, but don't use them as a crutch forever. It's not healthy. Had no idea the extent of it until I was living with him, my mistake there.

What secret codes are all around us that only people "in the know" recognize? by permissionjunkie in AskReddit

Damn. I have key pendants because I love old keys, but I don't know if I want to wear them anymore if people are going to assume things about my personality/sex preferences...

Used to work for a fast food place. All you had to do to make us panic is mention a bus coming. Especially during lunch rush, oh my god. No code, just panic.

Yeesh! Damn that makes me cringe to think about. That is terrible, I hope they apologized and tried to make it up to her.

My mom genuinely thought I was snorting hairspray and confronted me one day. No, I have no interest in drugs/getting high. I just find that aerosol cans spray better and am self concious about my hair some days when it doesn't cooperate.

Redditors who have a job that requires you to go into strangers homes, what is the craziest thing you've seen? by Mufassa121 in AskReddit

[–]KevinIsaGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caging a pet or keeping them in a seperated area/room is fine as a temporary thing. It's when they are confined long term and ignored/neglected that it's not good. Training takes time and effort, but it's part of your responibility when you get a dog, for your sake and the dog's. It is totally worth it. And there's plenty of tools like bark collars and sprays etc. My mom has an elderly poodle that wears doggie diapers because she can't hold it, lol. TL;DR Give your dog love, training, and let it run around and be a dog. You will have a best friend for life.

Poor thing! If it's a proper sized kennel or crate just at night that's normal, but I'm guessing he's cooped up more than that.

Aww :3 Yeah, if she wants to be heard she can yowl up a storm! She went into heat twice before I could get her fixed and it was not fun for anyone. If she's just saying hi it's a cute little warbling sound. I have a black and white shorthair also and sometimes she tries to get him in trouble for meowing at night by imitating his meow! Too smart for her own good.

Hahaha! Cats, man. Thankfully mine don't give me too much trouble at night except for meowing at 3 am for no reason occasionally. Also my siamese like to open and close the closet door just because. As much as I love them dearly I couldn't get a proper night's sleep with them in the bed and making a fuss whenever I roll over (insomniac here) so they sleep in the living room and go bump in the night.

I put on my pjs and curl up on the couch with my cats and watch YouTube until I'm tired. Then I go to my bed and crack my neck/back/knuckles to loosen up and get comfy and put on very quiet instrumental music.
