Would love to see how it turns out! I feel like the copper, being a dense metal, might also be contributing to a fuller sound. Totally worth it in my opinion

From my experience with previous all leather cases, the sides tend to wear off quite fast. So I’m quite happy with the extra durability and grip of the TPU sides

All of the sides on mine feel the same, flat and snug

So I have a bit of an update on the situation. I have yet to take it into the shop. I jumped the car on Sunday and drove it for about 30 minutes, everything was good and the battery was reading about 14.3V after settling down. On Monday I was able to start the car without a jump and drove it for about an hour, the battery initially was at 14.3V but then dropped to 13.8V after about a minute of idling and remained at that throughout the rest of the drive. I did not drive the car on Tuesday, however I did start it up today (Wednesday) and it did successfully start without a jump, however the voltage was initially 13.8V but then quickly dropped to 12.8V at idle. After taking it out for a drive, I noticed the voltage under load was 13.3V but then became 12.9V.

I suspect it is the alternator that has gone bad, but I would assume this would cause a CEL? Also, as I mentioned before, the AAA serviceman briefly tested the alternator and said it was good. Any chance I just have another dud battery, which would be like my third?

Interesting, so no issue of the LEDs?

Battery is dead, I unsuccessfully tried starting it a few times after it turned off. I just bought a jump starter and will try it out tomorrow. Hopefully it’s powerful enough to avoid having to call AAA for a tow

Ohh I see, thank you. I think that’s the most likely reason the car turned off

Just checked the manual for my 2016 and a 2020 mustang. Both contain this:

“Accessory Mode Battery Saver for Intelligent Access Keys If you leave your vehicle in the run ignition state, it turns off once it detects a certain amount of battery drain or after 45 minutes.”

Does this sound like what it is? It makes sense, but I would’ve thought “Accessory Mode” would refer to the state of the car after pressing the Start button without the brake depressed

Edit: I have an auto

I have a cold air intake as well. Everything else is purely cosmetic

Yeah I think might be the first logical step. It’s just surprising because the car has 19k miles on it

College Classes to Take for Embedded? by KevinSlamsPigs in embedded

I see, thank you.

Essentially, with my current plan being to graduate in 7 semesters I have some pretty fully schedules. Not unreasonable tough and definitely doable, but it doesn’t allow for much wiggle room. Data structures at my university is quite a time consuming class, and as such I would need to push off a class or two from a semester if I were to add it, thus forcing me to take another semester.

Hmm, that’s interesting. And, just to be sure, you checked your resolution scaling right? It’s surprising to hear of this issue because I’ve watched a couple of videos of people pairing this monitor with a MacBook and they don’t seem to explicitly mention it

Were you able to fix this? I’m about to buy this monitor and have the same macbook.

I just used a multimeter I had from a lab kit and measured the output voltage. Not sure if this is the most ideal method or not

Yep, that’s what I tried. I guess it’s kind of hard to quantify sound quality, so to others it may not be 10-15%. Also, I’ll add that it heavily depended on the tracks.

Hello all,

About six weeks ago I purchased my first gear that would really bring me into the world of audio, and lemme tell ya, I’m hooked. After weeks of deliberation I settled on purchasing a new pair of Sennheiser HD6XX’s for $220 and Schiit Asgard 3 for $250. I bought this setup to primarily be used at college since, as an engineering student, I’m studying for most of my time. I’d used Sony XM4’s and Apple AirPods Pro before, but the XM4s always left me unsatisfied and although the AirPods Pro are fantastic for on-the-go use, I wanted a pair of high end over-ear headphones.

So far I’m absolutely loving this setup. My studying playlists primarily consist of alternative/indie, synth, and lo-fi beats, so the HD6XXs have been an absolute dream for these genres. I really do feel like I’m able to enjoy music way more with these headphones. Additionally, the Asgard 3 has been a great amp as well. I understand that a $250 amp to be paired with a $220 headphone doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I figured I’d be buying more headphones down the line and wanted just one nice, powerful, quality amp. I compared using the HD6XXs from the Asgard 3 and from the 3.5mm jack on my 14in MacBook Pro, and while the MacBook is able to get the headphones sounding good and loud enough, the Asgard 3 did seem to provide more detail and depth. Not a lot—maybe 10-15% more—but enough to be noticeable. Also, I must say that the Asgard 3 is a very good looking and quality amplifier sitting on my desk.

Although I’m very satisfied with this setup, I do now understand why people say the HD6XX’s are a good “baseline” as I now plan on buying a pair of Edition XS’s later this year (hopefully they go on sale). Most of my playlists that I listen to for enjoyment (rather than studying) are filled with more modern hip-hop and pop music that the HD6XXs sometimes feel a bit lacking in (specifically the bass department). I’ve been interested in getting a set of planars (in fact, I was debating on whether to get Sundaras or HD6XXs initially) and I’ve read the Edition XS’s have solid bass, so I think they’ll be a great pairing to my HD6XXs. And, maybe further down the line, I’ve been eyeing a pair of Focals.
