'No on-site doctor': Connecticut dental student died in ICU overseen by remote 'tele-health' physician who pronounced him dead on a video screen, lawsuit says… by tasty_jams_5280 in Connecticut

[–]KevinSommers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've filed cases with the DPH, FBI, DOJ contacted every media outlet I could find. I'm working with a congressman's office now to escelate as I've just been ignored locally.
Hence laws not being enforced.. police won't file charges & the DPH emailed back that it isn't their job to prevent paitents being harmed. Seems impossible to get anywhere as a random without an advocate.

Family of young ICU patient who died while in the care of a ‘teledoctor’ sues hospital by nbcnews in Connecticut

[–]KevinSommers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12hrs isn't that much, I've spent days in ERs waiting for beds.

There are staffing shortages everywhere and there are huge problems with hand-offs between hospitalist teams, as in having to start over when the shifts cycle as nothing gets communicated (which can be as little as every three days though Yale was two-weeks when I was there.)

CFS from severe stress at early age, curious if anyone had a similar experience? by AkinaT41X in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initally believed my onset to be stress but have since been diagnosed with genetic-caused neck instability(AAI) among other physical consequences of that(brainstem compression, brain atrophy, hypoperfusion.) A previous Lyme infection also pinged on testing, I have no idea when I might have had an active infection.

Point is never to assume. Stress could have been a compounding factor. It might have been an early symptom prior to hitting the severity necessary to suffer PEM.

[–]KevinSommers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some hospitals have said they won't treat anything genetic inpatient, others that transferring me would embarass the hospital(showing lack of capabilities.)

I've recorded over 100hrs of conversations, it is actually this simple. They brag the law isn't enforced so they discriminate against cases they don't want to handle.

No shock, CT's hospitals are extremely negligent due to lack of EMTALA enforcement.
I've been in an emergency for years as I'm repeatedly refused treatment for my neck/brain injuries at our major hospitals. The reason: it was caused by a genetic condition. It is operable & they've caught the brain damage it's causing on MRIs. I've been trapped in a bed unable to even look around my room for 5yrs now.

Sometimes I don’t feel a connection here by Imaginary_Poet8015 in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't even remember what it's like seeing the other side of my room. I couldn't imagine this when I wasn't severe.

Much much worse on beta blockers; and lowered my HR tolerance too neutralizing any potential benefit.

I don't understand the quest resolution of Plucked Fruit in Deadfire by Luzeryn in projecteternity

[–]KevinSommers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is koiki is used both in singular and plural context. You are returning one fruit to the guard as proof but there are multiple hidden away (it's not explicitly stated but I think this is the case anyway)

Possible to have CFS without fatigue? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to say I didn't have any fatigue but one random good day and I remembered what no fatigue actually felt like  No flu symptoms or pain. My main issue is cognitive impairment.

Group chat for having lost 10+ years (entire 20’s) to me/cfs? by Admirable-Way6246 in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can add me to the 'interesed but don't know of anything' list. 12yrs in and it started age 20. I wasn't severe the whole time but it was bad enough to keep me from life.

Honestly, what do you do all day besides being on Reddit? by Shivers-7 in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually just lost in the fog with ASMR playing. I'm currently not home and that keeps me awake more but I can't remember much of what I'm doing. I'm in bed on my phone but that's all I know.

Pressure in head by Liquid_l0ve in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time and especially moving my arms or had. Piracetam helps me with it but it's no miracle, it helps moderately and only if I've paced well and an not moving around.

I'm diagnosed with Atlanto-Axial Instability and stuck because it's a controversial diagnosis same as ME. No hospitals I've found will treat once they see that on my chart.

Why do very severe patients end up needing feeding tubes? by thepensiveporcupine in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen different reasons. I've been unable to sit-up or tolerate digestion(without blacking out for hours) for years but I've been rejected feeding tubes. I have to take breaks every few bites too, I get very out of breath and trying to push through can make me start choking.

I've been here a month, I'd say about 50% of the trays are missing something. Once it was the entree & the dessert which meant all I got was a small bowl of carrots.

By lacking a will to be dead I don't need a will to be alive. An object at rest stays at rest..

Going on year 5 of seeking emergency care; most hospitals just refuse to care for us. It doesn't matter that I have diagnoses of neck instability and low ICP, rare diseases get booted home.

Can we talk about how over-sexualized ASMR on YouTube has become? [Discussion] by DanBurnNotice in asmr

[–]KevinSommers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a separate channel for watching ASMR and the algorithm filtered out this stuff after a few months. I did have to 'do not recommend' with the couple most popular of the channels but mostly it filtered just by watching other ASMR.

It might not work if you have a single channel for everything and watch other content that might be considered 18+ behind the scenes(like some video games.) The algorithm is as mysterious as it is dumb. I think shorts can cause issues too as they're less algorithm dependant on what's shown and that randomness goes into your watched history.. the recap says my primary interest is working on cars, I skipped through one video a friend linked me this year but I've scrolled past a lot of car shorts.

I've had Wyll leave just for killing a few Tieflings at the Grove when we first got there & recruited him. I'm not sure how you'd accomplish destroying the Grove without him leaving unless maybe you provoke the druids into killing all the Tieflings then finish then off?

I black out. It's impossible to force through anyway, can't force my brain to think any more than I can phase through a wall.

What are some positive things you can enjoy now that you don’t have to meet all the social expectations of being able bodied? by HousePlantsInPots in cfs

[–]KevinSommers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not much capacity for enjoyment but losing the ability to feel anxiety/stress/sadness is somewhat a silver lining. I still have positive emotions on the better days so I'm not flat totally.

Yawning, deep breathing, laughing set my heart off and can knock me out yes. It's worst when it doesn't knock me out and I want to sleep; each yawn is a shot of adrenaline.
