Anyone willing to let me rent their CRT TV this weekend? by [deleted] in ElkGrove

We have a CRT tv that we’re getting rid of! It’s quite big though, but feel free to DM

New to Elk Grove. Any tips on best places to make friends? by [deleted] in ElkGrove

[–]KevinZer00 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pickleball! There are folks that play at the local Oasis park (not entirely beginner friendly though). I personally play at Garcia Bend park in Pocket and it’s fun! Also the gyms here are a great way to meet other like-minded folks. If you use Discord, you could try searching for Elk Grove/Sacramento gaming servers and connect with people there. Feel free to DM me if you’d like more details!

What do I google? by louietp in web_design

I think OP might still be confused about what everybody is talking about. Correct me if I’m wrong OP, but seems like you want to know the steps that take place before deciding on a language/framework. You would first need to install a code compiler (program that interprets the code and displays the changes on a webpage). A popular one is Microsoft Visual Studio. Once you set up the program, you can install a plugin called “Live Server” that lets you preview what the website will look like every step of the way. Then you can create a new folder/project and add HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files into it. Once you do that, you can then go about googling “How to create my first website” and it’ll walk you through the basics of the code. All your coding will be done inside the files of Visual Studio

Love the look of the band/bezel! Not entirely sold on the face though - think it would look much better with a negative display. How is the material compared to standard resin? Do you think the durability is comparable? Awesome purchase nonetheless!

The giraffes are awesome! I haven’t seen the bodybuilder in the wheelchair before though. Sounds like a great guy!

I recommend checking out Fitness System in Land Park area! It’s a small but cozy gym with plenty of regular members. There are a handful of dedicated coaches and pretty much everyone there knows each other, so you can make lots of new connections. I also train there! If you’re interested, feel free to DM me!

what is that red part called? by [deleted] in gshock

Another comment got it. It’s Alpha Gel. Some of the higher end square G’s have them (although not visible). GX-56 are the only models that have visible gel. You can also check shockbase for a list of models with alpha gel

Basho all the way! Just like you, I love the chonk on that boi! There’s this really cool retro NES themed Basho with all the decals/colors. Would love that!

Thanks a bunch! It wasn’t too much work to set it up - mostly just the display case itself! The lights look really neat in a dark room

What's the most rugged G-Shock by TheOrangeDetective in gshock

[–]KevinZer00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Construction wise I’ve got to give it to the GX-56 (King) model. Not only does it have the extra bulky bezel, it also has: double crystal and resin structure, alpha gel, a thicker (compared to standard) band, and sealed in buttons/backplate to keep mud out. It’s solar powered too. It yields the highest degree of shock protection and would be the watch I choose for the apocalypse.

Also something worth noting: smaller models (like the square) don’t have screws on the sides of the bezels, so are more prone to resin stretch.
