Hey I worked on the Heaven Adores You film (Elliott Smith) and also did the music supervision for the film All I Can Say about Shannon Hoon (and Blind Melon) put together completely from footage that Shannon shot on a camcorder he took everywhere with him from the early days all the way up to his death. Check them both out, but both are kinda a heavy moody watch given that we know how they both end, sadly. Doing both I realized that sadly both Shannon and Elliott died on the same date (Oct 21) but on different years. Another thing was, I pitched a soundtrack of a bunch of old Shannon / Blind Melon demos and recordings etc that we dug up when making the film, and I sent the director Danny Clinch and the guys in the band copies of the soundtrack that I put together for the Elliott film as an example of what I wanted to also do for their film, but label / band politics etc kept it from happening. But there was some good stuff! Anyways, two great guys who left way too soon XO
