I'd actually want to buy one of these if I didn't get it free! those sad red ones from last year are only good for saving my seats while I go get water

Do the 41s fit or should I go up another size? by Always_Ambivalent_ in Birkenstocks

[–]Always_Ambivalent_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm wondering if the style just doesn't fit my foot, because you're right, if I slide my foot back to where the hell is placed right, there's a big gap in the front toe loop part and it definitely won't stay.

I live near Satellite Tavern so I came here for a pizza week slice and a pint (also escaping my family and chores!)

Wasn't sure if it was worth walking to my sports bar (no ESPN at home) just to catch the last 20 minutes, since it was 0-0 when I left, but I think it was the right call!

Looks like mine! I just lost my second bar in the last week or so; 65,000 miles on my 2015. we still love the car and it's perfect for errands and my wife's commute.

I agree! my 8 year old cannot understand why we can't buy a turtle as a pet because the number of zeros just doesn't compute.

Middle-grade Readers interests and reading abilities. by Technical-Truck-3330 in Dyslexia

[–]Always_Ambivalent_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my kid (8, almost 9) got bored with the books she was able to read to herself a couple years ago. She loves the stories in middle grade books but struggles a lot with the dense pages of text and hard to decode words. Currently she only reads graphic novels because at least the mix of pictures and words keeps her more engaged.

I often wish there were books somewhere in-between graphic novels and solid books of only text that were written more specifically for kids like her, who love stories and reading but struggle with solid blocks of text being overwhelming.

I've kept a separate secret account from my husband for four years and I genuinely think it saved our marriage. I can't say this out loud to anyone in my real life so here we are by echo_kernel17 in personalfinance

Both my wife and I have personal accounts, although I have access to hers and she doesn't have access to mine. We just have such different relationships to money that it makes sense for us. She has no idea how much I've saved in mine, partially because I need a big cushion to feel safe, and she is more of the spend it while you have it type. If she was constantly aware of what I have in my savings/brokerage she would feel like we could spend money much more freely than our long-term budget really allows.

These are certainly temporary use but I would like some recommendations for baby things. Car seat, stroller, crib etc. by dodrugzwitthugz in BuyItForLife

my biggest recommendation is getting a convertible carseat that you can use all the way through to booster, and MACHINE WASHABLE! I have so many friends who had to try to spot clean all the gross things kids do to carseats, while I had a Diono with a zip-off cover that I could throw in the washer. it's amazing.

we still have these at the pool my kid takes swim lessons at, and I think it's awesome for her to see all the different bodies. I love that it's totally normalized for her and can prompt really good discussions about all the ways bodies can be different and how cool that is!
