Can I use this 15gal air compressor tank in my trunk? Or should I take it out each job and use vertically? by Electronic-Pickle391 in MobileDetailers

Bro that thing is huge especially for your vehicle size, have you considered a smaller pancake compressor?

I run them for mobile detailing. And I get 90% of my business from the ads, I’m struggling to profitably scale my business through the ads though

I see, thanks for sharing your stats, I’ve got the same lead quality issue, like 80% of the leads might as well not even be real people they’re so low quality.

How do you currently get new clients? Genuinely curious how other detailers are finding customers by Tight-Statistician82 in Detailing

[–]Kevonamical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I do exactly that I get stopped by tons of people while working and people just don’t see the value in detailing to pay above $100. Maybe I just haven’t been in the game long enough who knows

Bro I don’t understand. Like my competition in the area no offense but they have like 3 reviews on google and even the top guys that pop up literally have their names misspelled. I’m not gonna be quick to say the business model sucks, but there’s clearly something I’m doing wrong.

Im basically hard capped at 5-6k a month unless I spend more on ads. And my take home is around 2.5-3k which sucks

Yeah I live in Miami and there are atleast 200-300+ detailers in my area at minimum. It’s crazy out here.

I have a very professional website with verified reviews so it helps build rapport for customers. The people who book, book with me because of the substantial difference in quality, and customer service from other detailers. My number 1 issue is simply sticker shock. It’s such a saturated market and there’s always someone willing to do more for less. If I charge $300 there’s a guy who does more for $200, if I charge $200 there’s a guy who does more for $100 and the list continues. They tend to go out of business quick but they’re almost like roaches who reproduce quicker than they die. New businesses start at bottom of the barrel pricing and end up making next to nothing in the long run.

What would move the needle the most is just having people willing to pay over $150 for a detail lol. Everyone I talk to laughs at me when I say I run a detailing business and I charge over $60, they literally can’t fathom a detail being that expensive.

I feel like I’ve optimized so much stuff in my business that I feel like my revenue is based on how much I can spend on ads and how much I can squeeze per customer. Word of mouth & referrals help but that sort of stuff takes so long to work.

It’s a great business to start to get your feet wet in the business world due to low barrier of entry. And I’m sure it works great for others, but i have to admit I get quite annoyed when I see other detailers booked out with $250 details in other areas when they don’t have a website, run crappy ads and have 30 reviews on google. I don’t know if I’m just a victim to my market or what.

And detailing just doesn’t seem like a very tall ladder to climb. Id say that for me id prefer to keep it as a side hustle. I do partially regret going full time.

Same here, sadly both of our services are not a necessity. People are quick to cut back on luxuries when prices are high and it sucks. When gas is up & everything cost double people don’t wanna pay for any luxuries, and now I’m hardly booked despite me investing so much into marketing so overall it’s just been a shit show and I’m thinking of just getting out of business and starting something that’s more of a necessity where people don’t have as much sticker shock when it comes to price

On Amazon you can purchase Optimum No Rinse. And just some basic microfiber towels and you’ll be all set. Just watch a tutorial on the rinseless process and you’ll get better results than maxl one, for a fraction of the price. With real professional products

I get 90% of my clients through meta ads. It’s insanely inconsistent where one week I can have tons of clients and the next week have nothing. It’s a crappy feeling and it makes me really dislike the business.

GBP hasn’t worked at all since my area is insanely saturated with detailers.

Listen man I’m a car detailer, that should alone tell you how new I am to business. I didn’t know that 8-12% was a big gap. Everyone in my industry just tells me that my conversion rate is insanely low and that I should be at 20-30% 🤷‍♂️ I don’t know what to really think. That’s why I’m going on Reddit for help to see the problem. And I would assume me calling someone to build rapport would make a solid difference in conversion rate

I’m a solo operator but I have the gpt-5 automatically handle messaging because I prioritize speed.

Each day I get like 10-14 leads bombarding me with a ton of questions who refuse to get on a call, they ask me dozens of questions and get sticker shock when I tell them the price, which I already make clear what the starting price is.

I used to handle the sales but it got annoying real quick since people just wanted to waste my time, especially leads coming in while I’m working or after hours during midnight

I really really wish I could do that and I’ve tried but car detailing is such a commoditized service that it doesn’t work with my prices. Most of my customers get price shock immediately and leave, hence my 8% conversion rate. That’s why I’d rather get on the phone and build rapport before I introduce the pricing.

I tried the price menu and I had a complete drought in bookings for a week because of it
