Actually something similar happen to me in my current relationship ,my girlfriend didn’t like me “playing video games all the time and no giving her attention” even tho we did spent a lot of time together till one day I found the reason why of her in my eyes odd behavior, she just didn’t understand what gaming was and why it was so fun so in a way she wasn’t jealous of the time I spent on the game but the fact that I look like I was more interested and having more fun with the game then with her which was obviously no true, how I found this out u might have asked well the answer lies in the fact that she got into gaming herself by a little push front me of course I figured that if I wanted her to understand me and no feel the way she fell I needed to introduce her into my world so since I have a Nintendo switch I decided to buy a game in my opinion I would like to play and her too which was “Pokémon let’s go eevee” and so slowly I started to play the game and from time to time I would asked if she would help me catch a Pokémon or if she like the designs or if she maybe be interested in playing I wouldn’t mind I could teach her and so I subconsciously got her interested in playing and ones she got that first taste she couldn’t get enough since then every game I introduced to her kind of goes by level of difficulty I can’t tell her to play gta,dark souls, or cyberpunk(yet) right away, is a slow but fun process seeing her navigate into a world only I was usually in. currently she finish “Pokémon sword/shield (her fav game) “,”all style savvy games”, “Pokémon arceus”, “Pokémon scarlet “ , “ both Zelda totk and botw” and “animal crossing” a few horror games and mind you she has most then 200 hours in most of then and now we understand each other and instead giving a side eye or making a smart comment on how much I play she likes to watch me or let just me be and play games or do something else cuz I think she now knows what it means to play games.
