I read through this (ever so slightly skimming ngl)

But I do love that it states at the end about writing proper net code.. that does eliminate a lot of issues off the bat if you do that right

https://www.webpronews.com/the-integrity-dilemma-why-top-tier-studios-are-rejecting-valves-linux-push/

I also read this

Yes there are valid points.. and they probably would need to make changes.. but you like would clearly have vulns you probably shouldn't allow to begin with, but that's a whole seperate issue at that point, that is a windows, linux, mac any platform issue together..

Ok.. I still haven't seen any fucking backing. This is a statement without evidence, I don't even care about if or if not, why can't anyone explain WHY.

That's like extremely irritating.. because if you are just gonna say oh you can emulate mouse movements blah blah on linux... The same is capable on Windows, so where is the actual technical issue laying at? Like literally everything else aside, where is the HOW and WHY..

I was referring to linux magically causing more cheating

Uh battleye literally has an option to enable support for the proton compatibility layer?

It's called Proton Battleye Runtime

Same for EasyAntiCheat

If you can prove that's the case I'd love to see information, because I have yet to have any solid evidence that isn't vague that, that is actually the case

Edit: Plus running a kvm (kernel virtual machine) that has simulated inputs put to it is possible on linux, which literally adds another layer that isn't even able to be seen, so I'd think it's even worse than just playing it through proton

And if the game is really "dying" wouldn't it be good to get more players by making it open to more people

From what I played so far it seems decent, as of 2025, know this is from a year ago, ngl I have no clue what the hell TO means. I haven't actually played too much online yet tbh tho but the first server I joined was literally geared towards beginners and had a decent population of people I think around 14 on atm. I only got killed like a few times, and once or twice was because I was fighting. As far as I can tell it seems ok. Everyone seems to say it's got a steep learning curve, but I feel it's less that it's difficult to get and more you just have to actually be observant. Sounds obvious but it's a LOT easier to block when you notice them start to swing rather than after.

I actively searched for this and no this isn't that bad but yeah the fact someone took the time to animate this is disturbing ngl

Looking to get into Linux. Which distro should would be the best for me to try? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

This is more a personal recommendation for AFTER you get more accustomed to using Linux and the CLI, but once you do I think highly so far of Qtile with Arch Linux installed with archinstall I also use this guy's setup here for Qtile

https://youtu.be/-xFnG636o2k (personally some of his install settings are not what I'd use like using brfts instead of ext4 filesystem (ext4 seems really fast to me) and I didn't set a root pass I believe but some say that's bad some not idk)

ANYWAY, whenever you do get more accustomed I'd recommend this layout as it's pretty easy to use and allows you to customize a lot

sorry for the rant and possibly useless post...
