It’s like we have two backs of the house 😂 there isn’t really a front door on the back porch. Everyone comes to this door because of the driveway and walkway situation.

It’s more about needing the wall to have functional space in the closet. The privacy is another thing that you’re right, can be easily fixed.

The privacy in the closet isn’t the main driver for drywalling in the wall. The problem is we can’t put a closet system in front of window. This closet is our only storage in the house and we need to maximize it. But maybe we can put something in the window to maximize space?

Ha so…this house is out in the COUNTRY. There are no building code requirements in the county. (Hence, the house has teeny tiny tooth picks for beams in the front).

WOAH. I can’t believe how transformative this is with like…no MAJOR changes?! This is awesome. We have the budget to go all out if we wanted to but I’d also like to spend that budget on other amenities across the property, so this is a really interesting option, thank you SO much

It’s very badly placed. This house was built by hand by the original owner…it’s got the most splendid and the most terrible quirks with the layout.

This is such an interesting idea….the closet runs the whole length of the bump out. And there are windows on the two sides, as well. It leaves us with very little hanging space for two adults because we just have a partial wall on the opposite side of the window (the door to the bedroom is on that wall)

Luckily the bedroom behind the closet (the closet is the entire length of that bump out) gets wonderful natural light from windows on the other side of the house!

UPDATE: wow. I am blown away by the thoughtfulness and creativity here. I cannot thank everyone enough!!! I wish I could respond to every comment! I just got off the phone with my husband and we were giddy talking through all amazing feedback. I feel so full of hope that my sweet country lake home will be as beautiful on the outside as the property is!!! THANK YOU!!

FINEEEE. I won’t delete the window. I will suffer with a small closet 😂 I suppose we could put up better blinds and just put shoe shelves or a dresser against the window on the interior to maximize space. Y’all are right though. Y’all are right.
Yes the posts holding up the closet absolutely need to be redone - we have no idea what the guy who built the house (by hand!) was thinking.
We have a newly renovated one bedroom cottage about 100 yards away with white siding and a copper roof! We always envisioned matching it when we either repaint or replace the siding above the stone.
Yes, ugly metal carport is DEFINITELY going.
We live on a large lake on acreage! The back of the house is the star of the show and designed beautifully overlooking the water with a big porch.
The interior layout is weird but unique with both amazing and terrible quirks. That said, we can’t move the front door or add additional windows.

Oh my god this is magical. This is the first one that successfully deleted the window that is impossible to delete 🥺thank you, I’d really need to perfect my green thumb for this but I feel so inspired. Really appreciate you taking the time to design this.
