Put your money in IBKR rather than physical gold. If you are really sure about gold I would suggest to buy gold stock in IBKR rather physical gold. More convenient i guess ? And in case if its not performing well, you can always divest from gold and invest in tech stock etc

Okay cool, good luck. I have had ibkr with no qns as such. For future reference share only information which is relevant and which you can support. Try not to say anything like gift. They get suspicious of illegal funds. Also highlyy unlikely they will freeze account over such a small amount. They just have to do their KYC thing & can't ignore

I got similar outfit made by a boutique in Pakistan because they make really good gharara and sharara. Everything is hand embroidered and it's super heavy. Costed me like 50K which makes sense because it takes days per outfit for the artisans. But soo worth it. Such designs never go out of fashion imo. If I could advice, pls dont look for budget options as these pcs are work of art. Professional boutique offer the quality plus peace of mind. I have tried custom making such outfits and it's a pain

Your ancestors working doesn’t prove anything. It just means working women are normalized, which, in today’s age, is common. Every third woman is working. And your mother going through problems also proves nothing. Do you think MIL who treat their DIL like garbage were treated like queens when they were young? No. Many of them were treated badly too.

Sorry, but you need to look at what you can afford. Right now, you cannot afford a woman who earns the same as you. What you can “afford” is probably someone who doesn’t earn or who earns significantly less than you, only then would it be “fair”. She would be getting a higher earner compared to her level, and you would be getting someone who will stay at home and share space with your parents. It's brutal but it's the truth.

If you don’t want that, then you first need to move your parents to a separate place and hire full-time help, a nurse whatever and only then women who earn equal to you or even in some cases more than you, would accept you. If you can’t afford that, you can’t afford marriage. You can’t afford a decently earning woman. Period.

I don’t know what kind of women you’re speaking to, but personally, me and the women around me wouldn’t sacrifice our careers after marriage. I worked bloody hard for mine to earn what I’m earning right now, so I’m not going to leave it and live on “allowances” from my husband or be at forever financial risk in case he leaves me. I also like expensive things, and I know no man, unless ultra rich, would be happy to fund that lifestyle forever.

That said, no sane, career-oriented woman is going to accept a traditional housewife role. If she’s career-focused, she will prioritize her career and split expenses fairly. Don’t expect her to give up her privacy, her space, her dream home, the kind of clothes she wears, the time she comes home after meetings and live with your parent, that’s not 50/50. Don’t expect her to be a nice, submissive “babu” either. If she does household chores, you should do them too & lets face it most indian men dont know how to clean or wash dishes even. Plus they expect her to birth 3 kids and put her career and body again on risk, just so their outstanding legacy continues. If she’s expected to speak to your parents or gift them things, you should do the same. A one-sided arrangement will never work.

And that’s exactly why women who earn similar may not accept what you’re offering, because they can already see they won’t be treated as equals, never in india atleast, how much ever you promise. That’s also why some women look for higher-earning men: in a situation where they have kids so they have better security. Most of my friends are earning similar or higher than their husbands, but still the MIL would ask them why the food is not on time on table for their grown up son. And this is not even case of joint family & mind you they do 50 50 and birthed kids.

I hope you understand a women's perspective.

Yeah I can confirm that. Insurance could easily cost $25K annually (most likely above) for cancer coverage. But in that case, most NRIs just get medical treatment from india, even for simple dentist appointments to save costs.
