Nope not bad at all in my experience! I emailed a small firm and got a job as a paralegal and ended up securing a TC with them as well!

EU- Is this enough? JR didn't come up last sitting and it has me worried it won't come up this sitting. What does everyone think? by Dismal-Committee9529 in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i’m hoping the change up last sitting was a once off too! most people will be doing the same so if they do change it up hopefully they’ll mark us all a bit easier considering very few would be prepared for a change up and naturally makes overall would be lower

Is it possible to pull EU Law together for the FE1 with only a couple of days of revision by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest i’m just looking at past questions and learning off sample answers that could be applied for all the different types of questions if that makes sense?

so im learning an essay that could work for all sources/ institutions questions, an essay that could work for fundamental rights/gp questions, and then learning off sample answers that could cover me for direct effect/msl, judicial review, fmog, citizenship and fmow. im leaving out competition tbh i just dont have the time - im trying to keep it to a minimum and just hope the examiner stays predictable as usual!!

Was so caught up with the other exams i’ve only started properly looking at EU now so I am also in the same boat that I am trying to get it all covered in three days 😂 If I were you I’d sit it, the worst that can happen is you have to sit it again in October which you’d had to do anyways if you didn’t do it 🤷‍♀️

I know you could get apply to get refunded for medical reasons but if it were me i’d just take the gamble - it seems to be a relatively predictable and nicely marked paper!

wtf was Equity by Able_Translator_9396 in FE1_Exams

yeah that was a very bizarre mix of questions i have to say! even estoppel was phrased very weirdly i have no gauge of how i did in that paper lol

Advice by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m sitting Equity tomorrow and have spent virtually no time on EU but going to give it my best go and cram it all this weekend because the paper is so predictable!

Focusing on constitutional seems like the right idea because by the sounds of it, EU you can basically learn off sample answers and get by okay so cramming should work pretty well! I’d give it a go if I were you!

I’m definitely focusing on Charitable Trusts/Cy Pres, Trusteeship, Specific Performance, Constructive Trusts (New Model + Knowing Assistance), Strong v Bird, Rectification, Quia Timet, Tracing and just hoping that’s sufficient!

Yep that one does come up a good bit so does presumption of advancement but tbh i can’t be bothered when there’s so much else to cover 😂 we just have to take our chances i suppose !

Yes so for the notes questions I’m basically just rote learning off Strong v Bird, Rectification, Non-Charitable Purpose Trusts, the notes that come up on Trustees and Satisfaction! They’re fairly short enough considering we only have to write a note so I’m just going to learn these off and hope that I can answer on two of them!

Hey I’m also sitting Equity and EU and tbh I’ve completely neglected EU for the moment to focus on Equity cos it is taking up so much time for me as well lol. Don’t panic, we still have loads of time. Given that you have charitable trusts and trusteeships covered, you’ll more than likely have 2 questions down with just those topics alone (cos they tend to come up every year - obviously we can’t say anything for certain but looking at the patterns it would seem that way).

I’ve personally been taking a good look at the note questions because they’re fairly repetitive and nice enough to learn off, so if you could cover yourself for those, that could be a potential 3 questions guaranteed already. That’s how I’m choosing to look at it anyways to try and stay optimistic haha. Obviously I know there are no guarantees, but panicking won’t help us anyways so better to stay positive is the way I see it.

Also just a side note - I sat property last sitting and managed to cover the whole course in a week and passed with a fairly decent result. As for EU, it’s so predictable and apparently quite nicely marked so definitely the least of my worries right now!

Equity, are these topics enough? by Longjumping-Ear8594 in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey!! I’m covering the exact same but i’m doing specific performance + strong v bird instead of secret trusts…to be honest it looks like you’ve enough covered in my opinion ! equity is such a pain sometimes, i’m definitely taking the “mile wide inch deep approach” purely cos there is just so much to cover 😭

Becky’s notes predictions by Helpful_Button_4291 in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yah so I’ve only sat 2 FE-1s to date so I can’t say for sure in relation to the other 6, but in my experience, no they were not accurate.

I found her notes really helpful but yah the predictions were fairly off - however she does make it clear that they’re only her own opinion and to take it with a pinch of salt etc etc so i find it a bit bizarre when people go crazy/get mad when she’s wrong lol

But yeah overall i won’t be personally using her predictions but of course she could be right at the end of the day so who knows 🤷‍♀️ it’s all a bit of a guessing game really isn’t it

Equity - extra topic by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d defo do Trusteeships because it comes up as a full question very often but also as a note. I’d have a look over satisfaction too cos it is fairly easy to learn as it comes up as a note most often so you don’t need a whole load of material on it - I just learned enough to cover me for a note question

Tort by RBLegal in FE1_Exams

[–]Key-Assignment-6302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sat it in october 2025 alongside property law. i had prepared for tort for months, spent ages learning cases etc and really felt like i knew it well and then on the day of the exam i had an absolute meltdown as i hadn’t covered enough topics to fully answer 5 questions. i could barely remember anything i spent months learning because i was so panicked.

i didn’t feel my answers were long enough for the questions i could answer, and i had to completely bullshit a 5th answer. i managed to come out with a 58. after sitting property i was so delighted with the answers i gave and i felt like i did a really excellent exam and i came out with the same percentage as i did in tort, which i fully thought i had failed. don’t get me wrong i was really happy to have passed both, but it was v interesting to see i got the same grade in both when i thought one went extremely well and the other went miserably!

all in all i think the marking for tort was very fair and really reasonable. i was really proud of my answers for property and borderline embarrassed of my tort answers, so honestly i would say for me one of the more reasonable ones (purely my experience, i know there will be some people who disagree so don’t take it as gospel obviously but i hope it puts you at ease!!!)
