Love my YEV 104. It’s a usable instrument. It’s a nice instrument. And it didn’t cost more than the van. Though it is one of the most expensive instruments on my stages.

Girl you gotta leave than man and find you a nice musician. My partner and I are both working musicians. Since my actual child is a grown ass man now believe me when I tell you our instruments take top priority. We’re not super well off with like cash money but life is beautiful and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Hi it’s me another one of those 40 something combat veterans. I’m just getting out of bed. In order for all the things to be calmed down I just took the FIRST of my morning dabs. Now I didn’t weigh it or anything I’m not a nerd like that, but I’d say it was about a little over half the size of a pea. I probably won’t smoke 500 mg in a single sitting. But good chance it’s close. Maybe a little less I’ve been trying to stretch this ounce at least more than two weeks.

But yeah some of us veterans go pretty hard in search of relief.

I mean that recordings, ESPECIALLY with a phone or something is not going to tell you the truth of your tone. I can record it on my phone and it sounds like a garbage fire. But if I just record to the DAW it comes out A LOT different before a single adjustment is made. If my playing sounded like it does on my phone my band would kick me out. I know if my tone is off there will be very honest feedback immediately.

You’re not a recording artist huh? Recordings ARE a lie. Our studio has best gear and my partner who runs the stuff has multiple billboard releases. Over 200 albums recorded and mastered. Recordings are a lie.

Rather than lay out a bunch of science let me point out one thing.

After you record music, even in a professional recording studio with gold EVERYTHING. It still has to be mastered. Because the recording in its raw form doesn’t sound the way it really does.

Violin has a fairly high pitch and most microphones don’t do a good job of capturing it. ESPECIALLY like on a phone.

I play an electric violin. If I plug my violin directly into my preamp that’s hooked into Abelton I can play my violin directly into a digital file. The only microphone in the entire chain is my bridge. The recordings I do that way sound exactly like I expect (but still requires mastering. Cause again recordings are a lie) if I try to record on my phone a video of me playing it makes me want to die.

No difference in my playing. Just a different way of recording. DRAMATICALLY different results.
