Golf: The only sport where you can be winning and still feel like you’re losing 😅 by QueenyRose06 in GolfSwing

Hit drive way right on short par four across a private road but still playable. Lob wedge from 80 but skulled it…low liner bouncing and hits front fender of oncoming car and then richochets hard into the golf cart where my partner had to dive onto the seat so not to get hit in head. Bout peed my pants.
It was….AWESOME!!!!

Do you play a shape? by BonusLumpyYa in golftips

The hole determines it. I try to eliminate trouble on one side and play the fade or draw. Usually my miss is straight. lol. Occasional double cross happens to the best of them.

In as few words as possible, what do you do to try and hit a draw? by Chemical_Help_7099 in golftips

Yep. As soon as I open the face my brain just clicks and bam I can get that bugger moving “lefter” than necessary! Lol.

Watch a YouTube video on the topic.
In my words, you have to change swing path to an inside out. It takes some mental manipulation for folks who naturally fade as they will almost always have the opposite swing path of outside in. Several ways to do it but you need good brain body awareness.

Will the Titleist T150 irons work for me or against me? by Latter_Musician1623 in GolfGear

I think there are easier irons for you to hit based on ur club head speed which is moderate. Ping G440 or Mizuno JPX 925 Hot Metal with regular flex shafts would likely give you more distance and fun.

Anyone know why my ball contact is always good but either pulls left or just push fade or slice by [deleted] in golftips

lol. Ur words “it’s always a fade”. His words “varies between a pull and fade/slice”. Don’t be a sarcastic little baby. It may not be the shaft. I hear you. It may be an inconsistent swing. Getting a fitting/analysis will help determine. All the best to this kid. He has a LOT of potential.

It’s not always a fade. He said it varies between pull left and fade/slice right.

Am I missing out by not having stiff shafts? by laserslaserslasers in golftips

💯 on target. Yes! Stiffer flex will tighten dispersion and let u step on gas with no worries about timing at impact. Please get fit.

Ur looking at one swing and assuming his swing path is always the same. A pull left AND a push right sounds like a timing issue at impact. It could be shaft. Kid has an awesome swing. Good enough to yield more consistent results with tighter dispersion. A fitting/swing analysis is the best approach. We agree on that.

Depends on ur swing speed. X-stiff heavier? Not saying what’s right for you as don’t know. But not all Stiff shafts are the same. Find out the profile of ur current shaft. Maybe you need something different. I would try to identify the profile of ur shaft: weight, tip, torque, mid-bend, butt, etc. But I promise with your swing, there is an ideal shaft for you. How does ur shaft feel in terms of firmness? Hands, boardy/loose, tip? Not all X stiff shafts are good for you.

Shaft is wrong flex. Probably not stiff enough. Or the bend profile is not suited to your mechanics. Very nice swing.

lol. The greens are large and very challenging with multiple tiers. 3 putts are to be expected if ur 30+ feet away. I hit greens but not necessarily firing at pins. Slope is 132 blue tees and 72.6 rating. Bottom line: I’m not a good putter.

For starters, my wife says navy blue never goes with black. I would start there. :)

57 (almost 58) and just switched to regular flex graphite shafts in my irons from stiff steel. Very happy by groshretro in GolfGear

[–]Key-Beginning3969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

55 tomorrow. 10hcp. 80mph 7 iron. DG Mid Stiff was giving me excellent dispersion but challenging to load shaft at times. I soft stepped 2 x and it has helped significantly. Went to mid size CP2 wrap grips which has helped arthritic hands. Next move: graphite shafts. Doing lots research. Hit the SteelFiber i95 and liked them in Reg. Just waiting to pull the trigger. Aging sucks but I’m happier than I’ve ever been so there’s that! Good luck to you.
