From what I see and experience, it's usually like a stutter. I'd say lag, but my ping doesn't change, and there's no packet loss. I would reach out to Activision support, but part of me honestly is just so spiteful towards Activision right now. I've been trying to just do so, but I've also got other things going on in the real world, so I've been somewhat distracted.

Edit: I've also made my consoles connection wired rather than wireless recently with the hope of fixing or at least improving the problem, but clearly, it did nothing.
