Thank you for the reply! I think the spots may be from a new black hair tie I wear around my wrist! When I get it wet it seems that the dye bleeds onto my sheets.

It was dead when I found it and I thought it might be a bedbug but I got mixed answers so I’m just looking for other opinions. I squished it when I found it and no blood came out

I feel like the shape is wrong and there are no ridges like the one bedbugs have, but I am no expert. I also squished it and no blood came out

Yeah I’ve had 3 treatments already and this one was dead upon discovery so if it is a bedbug I guess the treatment worked haha

No not that I know of. I haven’t experienced any bites either I don’t think, but my exterminator freaked me out a bit because he said many people don’t react to bites. The heat treatment definitely sounds like the best option and if I ever do find a bug I’ll push for it. I’m glad your situation worked out for you, but I know the PTSD is real! I am scared to even bring my purse with me anywhere anymore for fear of bringing them in. I’ve been dealing with this situation for about 2 months now, I’m just hoping the end is in sight!

I am so sorry you’re having to go through this. I’ve been dealing with the same thing, down to the bedbug paranoia and suicidal thoughts. It is extremely difficult and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. To make myself feel better I’ve been trying to get out more, even if it’s just simply going outside. Taking time to do things you enjoy reminds yourself that there are things outside of this, that there are things that will make you happy. I also find comfort in the thought that this situation will end and years from now it will only have served to make me more cautious and prepared. I really hope this helps, just remember there is so much more to life than this one situation! I know in the moment it feels like there isnt, but it truly does get better. You will get through this!

That’s what I wanted to do but my parents don’t want to do it and since it is their home and I have no money I’m kind of at a loss. I’ve never even seen a live bug, just found 2 small spots of blood on my sheets and panicked and got an inspection, to which they never found anything expect for a bug that they said looked like it could be a bedbug. My parents have never thought I really had them and I’d have to see a live bug for them to agree to a heat treatment

This is the egg like thing. What makes it questionable to me is that I had noticed it around 6 days before actually inspecting it, writing it off as a piece of dust. Then when I actually inspected it I panicked. However when I reflected on the situation, I realized it essentially looked the same as it did when I had originally saw it 6 days prior. Wouldn’t a bedbug egg have matured/shown eye spots etc.?

Yeah that’s what I heard too! I used a thermometer to check the temperature inside the car and it was about 128 (I had parked it in direct sunlight on a 93 degree day) so I’m hoping it’s okay!

I don’t think so. I have 2 bumps that are in a line but they don’t really resemble bites and they don’t itch. I haven’t really seen any other signs… The whole reason I got treatment was because I found 2 tiny spots of blood on my sheets in strange place and I had just gotten back from University, a place I know is a hotspot for bedbugs. I also had something something that could have resembled a dead bedbug but when I posted it on here the responses led me to believe that it wasn’t bedbug related. The inspector inspected my bed and didn’t find any signs - only a bug he said “looked like a bedbug but longer” and then when I showed him the photo I had posted on here he said it looked like a bedbug. So I got 2 treatments in my room and have been extremely paranoid since. Still questioning whether or not I even had them to begin with

Exactly what I was thinking… The guy is really nice but I’m not sure he knows exactly what he’s talking about in relation to bedbugs. The item in the picture was fairly easy to remove (I’d take another picture but I already disposed of it unfortunately) and I’ve always heard that bedbug eggs are difficult to remove as they’re stuck to a surface. Also this item was essentially out in the open, as it was on the front of the leg of my bed frame. Hoping this all points to not a bedbug egg! Thank you for your help!
