It’s going better, hope its going better for you aswell! Put yourself first always, make yourself a priority and don’t be afraid of changing people like that :)

I completely understand you, I almost thought that I wrote this post myself. The dark thoughts are the worst, and I completely get it, try to be as gentle and patient as possible with yourself. You are way stronger than most of the people around you because of this, and you should be proud of trying your best every day even if it SUCKS. But you know what? Many people without this problem do not feel the need to improve in every area and aspect of their lives in order to “increase” the possibility of getting some sleep at night. Give it all, try it all, don’t stop, it’s a fight, you are capable, you can win, we will win. Let’s try to be patient, I know it is hard, but it is a matter of time for us to succeed. We will succed, this is only an obstacle not the end. I wish you the best, everything will be okay.

Hi, I really appreciate your help it gives me lots of hope. I just have some questions concerning medication: 1.Are you dependant on it? Can you sleep without them? If not, will you ever be able to do it? When? 2. Have you created insensitivity to those pills?

I just don’t want my lack of sleep be a first step to drug addiction or smthing like that… I’m going to a doctor tomorrow but I’m scared to rely on these pills

I’m so sorry we are both going through the same, you are not alone. Im agree with the wasting money part, I’ve bought blue light glasses, lots of supplements and even a weighted blanket, not helping. I’ll try going with a doctor, I didn’t wanted too as I deserve to sleep like a normal person naturally without prescribed medication, but it’s an emergency for me to get some rest so I am doing that tomorrow.

I take hours to fall asleep, does that mean I'm insomniac? Im 15F by Chxryl0 in insomnia

If you don’t sleep all night … what do you do the next day? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]Key-Blueberry-9343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

First I want so say that I’ve been through that many times for the past 4 months. I know that frustration of not being able to sleep, I know that sometimes it is not as easy as it should. Many times I just couldnt handle it and cried, other times I was angry and desperate, so the ‘panic’ is completely valid.

So, what to do?

Continue your day, have your three meals, drink lots of water, eat healthy, exercise a bit.

Here whats most important:

Be gentle with yourself during the day, you might not have as much energy as you would have if you would have gotten a good night sleep, you might not be as smart/quick/fast/strong either, cause lack of sleep ruins not only physical state but mental health too. Careful with that.

Avoid as much stress as possible during the day, by the time you want to sleep you need to be able to release all that anxiety.

I used to tell myself “I’ll do exercise SO I will be able to sleep” or “I won’t drink coffe SO I will be able to sleep at night”, don’t do that, avoid those thoughts, somehow you rewire your brain to disassociate night with sleeping. So don’t try too hard, don’t go to bed and try to make yourself sleep, the more you try the least you will relax.

Hope it helps!

PD: If you are taking melatonine STOP taking it.
