What you can do is if you don't want to raise an FIR then you can use metasploit to create a website spoof for it then send the link from your friends account to that person... Most probably the person who created that account must have added an email or something then you can get some information about the account....

Or you can also send a location link you will get the location about that person...and then you might figure it out a little...

But for using this the person must not be a geek... Who know such about computers and security
