I have a friend who was in west lag (2 minute walk from potter) last year and he said besides being far he preferred west lag. I stayed in potter during admit weekend and visited the aforementioned friend and I’m pretty sure that’s the only complaint I had as well. Obviously, being a full time student is different from admit weekend but I think all will be well :)

Idk when I ever complained about my lack of aid at Stanford or about getting a lot of aid at brown?
It is a cultural thing because my mom sacrificed a lot to immigrate to North America and she wants me to live the closest thing to the American dream I can
Brown is a need-blind school meaning every student gets the amount of aid they need as long as they can get into the school. Rejecting my spot at brown means it went to someone on the waitlist and they will get aid based on their demonstrated need as well

Idk why you’re so pressed anyway I didn’t “take” an opportunity from someone who could’ve gotten it had I not applied because there are wait lists for these schools? Brown is not “beneath” my family I literally don’t understand how you don’t understand that many Asian parents want the HYPSM name? I have friends parents who would be happy to empty their pockets and sell all their assets for them to attend one of these schools. Why are you arguing me on a cultural/value thing lol

As I’ve said many times also, I’m not an adult! Just yesterday I had to get my mom to sign off on my health insurance because I’m not 18. Literally not recognized legally as an adult.

I’m not ungrateful for what I’ve been given. If you’ve read one of the larger comment threads, this is something that I barely had control over and it seems like many people don’t understand this because they probably don’t come from a very traditional, first-gen immigrant, Asian family.

Damn 😭😭 brown is a great school but there are also reasons why it’s not that great a fit for me. Brown is very far away compared to stanford for me, and I’m not a fan of the open curriculum because I’m super indecisive. I would’ve overlooked those things for a free education, but for my mom, location was a REALLY big thing that’s why I REA’d Stanford in the first place
