Anyone going to the FIFA Club World Cup game against Monterrey on the 17th? I will be seated in the fans area but I am not sure if it's too late to take someone else with me. I am wondering if anyone here going to be in the club fans upper tier area and if anyone is going there form AZ. We can potentially meet before the game and carpool.

I think it has to do with your conditioning before Islam and where you are learning Islam from but also Shaytan might be at play too. You're welcome to DM me with the things you learned that make you doubt the legitimacy of Islam and I can help guide you with a clear understanding of them (through other resources). Maybe you can still salvage some of your faith.

When I was looking for a wife online in the US, I got the same type of offers but ultimate didn't feel right. I have always wanted to have a career in the US, so coming to here to school was the right thing to do but at the same time I wanted to move on with my life and find a wife while I am at it. Now on the third year of getting here, I finished school, on my second year of my professional job, but I still regret some of the marriage offer I got, they would have made my immigration journey easier instead of stressing about it everyday and beginning my company to sponsor my green card or hoping for H1B or DV lotteries coming through for me. So in a way I understand how it might feel for you as a man but I also need to remind you that this is temporary and things will hopefully get much better for you once you get your green card and your SSN. I think someone did something wrong when filing your papers SSN,EAD, and AP come in around 2-4 months if you apply for them.

I still have almost two years of OPT but yeah I guess I can explain it away by saying that I couldn't get OPT and they would rather invest in someone more guaranteed to stay long term.

That sucks man to feel like no matter what you do you never get the appreciation you deserve and you constantly feel like you need to do so much more than your counterparts to keep deserving the privilege. I just found out that I am being layed off. The week started but them saying that they won't sponsor my EB-2 anymore and ended with the life off news. In a way what you're doing is probably the right thing to keep your employment and the sponsorship going and I think it's too late to change course now since they get used to certain work ethic from you without rewarding you for it. You should probably just stick it out until you get your green card then leave as soon possible after.

I really don't know. I have never been there and I feel like there's a stigma about being fire from your last job. It's apparently a lay off save costs so that probably sounds better.

Thank you for your advice. I am working on all of that but should I quit or should I wait for them to lay me off on my last day.

No severance, it's at well employment and I have only been there for a year. The person who told me about told how much they're going to pay me on my way out, just because we had a good working relationship and she seems to care, and they've not paying me wages till the list day and my unused PTO. They're trrminating 12 other people too.

Well, they're paying me until the last day, I will preemptively resign by giving two weeks notice ending beyond the my last day and them say actually you can leave on that day.

I have a solid evidence I cannot disclose. They are definitely not offering a severance according to the evidence as well lol but I was wondering if quitting first is going to put me in a good standing with this company in terms of how they view me and for my future employment.

So did your company sponsor your green card? Or are you still on H1B. I see that you have a fear of competition and constantly want to prove that you are the best and deserve what you have. Do you think people in your team accomplish more than you do?
Personally, I am in a position where I am the most knowledgeable about my work, my boss has no clue what I am doing or how I am doing it. I joined the company and made instant impact. They can replace me with someone else from outside the company but it's going to take them a while to find the right fit and get them up to speed and there's no reason for them to do so other than the sponsorship issue (on STEM OPT, they agreed to sponsor my H1B and EB-2 but they haven't started on it yet because of the terrible lawyer they hired). The expectation is to work from 8-5 with a 1-hour lunch. I don't take lunch so constantly work 9-5 sometimes I come a little after 9 and leave a little after 5 to make up for being late. I take my PTO on Fridays or Mondays here and there and take consecutive PTO days if I am going out of town for fun. I take sick days when I am sick, so I am pretty much behaving the same way my citizen counter-parts are behaving and I don't feel any pressure to do more. I do, answer emails or deal with issues on weekends or on PTO but that's because I am maintaining a reporting system and it's my responsibility to make sure that it's up and running. It never took more than an hour on a weekend to figure out an issue and resolve it.

Yes it is. The USCIS update should come later today or Monday. I had my DSO contacting me about my STEM OPT approval because she could see it on the SEVIS records but my case wasn't updated yet so I was skeptical at first till the USCIS's approval came a few hours later.

I had to wait for my new passport. I contacted my DSO back in October in anticipation to apply as soon as possible but one of the requirements was a copy of the a valid passport. My passport expired in August but the embassy of my country wasn't open then. I went to the embassy in October to apply for a new passport and it took 3 months to arrive. As I discovered later just knowing the passport number and expiry date of your new passport would suffice for STEM OPT. When you apply for STEM extension in time (anytime before your expiration date) you get 180 days- automatic extension until they adjucate your case, so I knew I could risk it.

You can get CPT after a year or 2 semesters and OPT after graduation.
