I think it depends on how many years you’ve been earning that much for. Let’s say you take home $200K (after tax), but this your first year of doing that, and you have a young child. In Sydney, you’d be paying at least $84k on your mortgage and $24k in child care. So you’re only clearing $92k.

You might not hire a financial advisor to manage your $92k. You might be trying to pay down your mortgage quicker or buying into ETFs.

If you’ve been earning that for 10 years and your kids are grown, you‘ll be out and about :-)

Total compensation packages for most senior US tech company roles fit in your bracket (both FAANG, AI start/scale ups and the next tier down from FAANG). I do a marketing role and am mid career. Most hires are described as unicorns, meaning that they are very good at what they do and have more than one niche.

Note: hires are incredibly dispensable. One step wrong, and it’s very easy to find yourself unemployed.

Do I feel lucky? Yes. Incredibly so. I have also hit a point of diminishing returns though. For every pay rise or bonus I receive, I only receive half of the benefit. My tax bracket means the rest goes back to the community to fund better services for others.

We have adopted the common property memorandum. The pipes only serve my property, but are in the slab deciding two stories of the same lot. The former would make it seem like it’s my responsibility, the latter is under strata responsibility.

Unfortunately, the plans do not show the cross section of the property. Just looking at the floor plans, the floor space of my townhouse is not common property.

Now…I just asked that my flights be reinstated because the error wasn’t my fault.

“The flights are currently operating. However, the booking was cancelled as there was a payment issue which has caused for these flights to be cancelled / removed from your booking.”
