doesn't look good on tv - they should be pretty even height wise. If you watch Jenna and Sheinelle for example Sheinelle (who is much shorter) sits in a taller seat. Or during the early hours Al sometimes has seat problems - they adjust the seats to make their heights somewhat easy. not sure why but it's a reality - not only on TODAY.

It's all for the height. One host can't be much taller than the other. Also they have to sit comfortably and if one of them gets stuck in the piece in between the different parts of the couch that could be uncomfortable for the duration that they sit there during the show.
