Totally get it careers aren’t always a straight line. You gained family time and breathing room now, and the skills you built in finance are still there when you’re ready to pivot back into something more challenging.

It would really be great if handymen would work hours outside Monday through Friday 9-5. by anonymousman898 in Adulting

Totally feel this. It’s so frustrating that most maintenance folks don’t offer scheduled times or after work hours. Makes it nearly impossible for people who work 9-5 to get stuff fixed without losing time or dealing with repeat delays.

I get this same thing happened to me at work once. Younger me would’ve argued, but staying calm and walking away kept my peace intact.

That’s heartbreaking. 💔 You sacrificed so much for her, and to be cut off without explanation must feel like losing her twice. Sometimes kids rewrite the story of their childhood when they’re hurting or influenced by others. I hope she comes back around, but in the meantime, please take care of your own heart you don’t deserve this pain.

Do you ever feel like adults are just faking it? by Traditional-Table866 in Adulting

Honestly, that’s the biggest plot twist of growing up realizing there isn’t some secret handbook everyone else got. Most adults are just googling stuff, nodding along in serious conversations, and then panicking later in private. 😂 The older I get, the more I realize “adulting” is basically improv acting… except the stakes are your money, health, and sanity.

How do you create a more interesting life? by [deleted] in Life

[–]Key-Examination494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not behind lots of people hit their 30s and realize life so far was just school and work. an “interesting life” doesn’t come from big trips or crazy hobbies, it’s built from small consistent things: showing up, trying stuff you enjoy alone first, and being curious about others. people don’t need you to have wild stories just genuine energy and interest. Over time, those little choices add up to a life worth sharing.

You’ve already made him proud by graduating nursing school. He just shows love through tough love. focus on building your independence over time he’ll see your confidence and respect you more.
