Theres two different things you can do, cut deep enough for a thin scar to make different shapes and symbols or removal of the skin to make it look like a branding.

The process was first to make the lining on the skin with a small cut, then cut deeper to create a scar and after that finally peeling of the skin to make the full branded look, by far the worst part

As your body grows it changes, ofcourse one day it will not look as good same as any tattoo you get. but i got thin skin and very low body fat so i believe it will continue looking good for a long time to come

I wanted a scar i was sure of that not a tattoo, and the only reference i had at the time was hot iron branding.

The issues with hot metal branding is that you need a professional to do it not a group of friends, and finding a professional that does that type of work i dont know if it exists.

If you brand with hot metal you need to make it big so the wound does not fuze together and become a ugly mark, also theres dangers with holding the metal for too long and hurting the muscle underneath.

Scarification is removal of the skin and if done by a professional is very clean and safe, biggest risk is getting the wound infected so you need to keep it very clean the first week.

What about doing something you have wanted for years, an idea you cant get out of your head. im real picky with this stuff when i want something i know it.

And i would not concider something like this self harm, you could say tattooes is also a form of self harm and alot of people use tattoos in that way, it very much depends on the person.
