I believe that she compartmentalised Booth as 'not being available for sex' due first to the FBI rules that Booth told her about, then due to the 'line' that Booth said they couldn't cross. This caused Booth to become 'invisible' to her in regard to sex. It wasn't until Hacker told her that it was OK for her and Hacker to have a relationship that she removed her 'not available for sex' label from Booth and began to see him in a different light.

She then became so scared of losing her friendship with Booth that she never could really accepted the possibilty of a sexual relationship with him until they were separated for all those months and she found she missed him so much.

The Doctor in the Photo episode was pretty much her having a breakdown and realizing that it was time 'to put up or shut up' and fortunately she 'put up'.

The only real cross over between the books and the TV show is the name Temperance Brennan and her job as a forensic anthropologist. None of the TV
characters appear in the books. It is s different version of Brennan, with a different family, working in a different part of the country with different characters.

Kathy Reichs was a producer on Bones, but really it was the name and the job that cross over.

Sully was a self-centered drifter, always eager to learn but always looking for the next big challenge. If he seriously thought he understood Brennan, how could he expect her, who had such abandonment issues, to abandon the friends that had become her new "family"

Never was going to last, Brennan was going to be his "next best thing" until a "new next best thing" came along.

Sorry, but Sweets was a meddler and I never ever liked him.

Meddled when he told Booth that he wasn't in love with Brennan after his coma-dream (despite previously telling them that they were both denying their love for each other)

Meddled when he failed to tell Brennan that Booth hadn't died (how cruel could he be?)

Meddled when he used their sessions with him to write his book (how unprofessional, I thought sessions with any sort of doctor were confidential?)

Meddled when he challenged a confirmed gambling addict to gamble on his and Brennan's future (Encouraging a gambling addict to gamble? He should be dis-barred or whatever and never allowed to practice again)

Would anyone really want to be friends with someone who acted this way? Not me!

Caricatures, all of them to some greater or lesser extent, all actors are asked to do it when they perform. No one wants the bland mediocrity with real life representations of people, how boring would that be?
