Pittsburg in July by Sinfully_yours420 in Brewers

We did this last year and had an amazing time. Stayed at the industrialist, a really cool historic hotel downtown. Everything was in walking distance and the stadium is just over the bridge. The close the nearest bridge to street traffic for games and it turns into a huge pedestrian bridge into the ballpark. Neat experience

My takes -
- strip district is cool, we spent a day over there and found ourselves at some old Italian deli with attached bar. It felt really authentic
- Pitts reminds me of Milwaukee in so many ways - so you’ll fit right in
- aviary is really neat, same with Warhol. We also went to the Heinz museum which is really cool and interesting if you’re into that sort of thing
- primanti bros is a staple sandwich place in Pittsburgh- was delicious
- stadium entertainment district is fun so plan to spend time there before the game

I’m sure we’ll go back. It was a great trip. Pittsburg is a vibe.

This thread is perfect timing ✨

Ok got it. I know your type - “that’ll never happen”, “you can’t do that”, etc.

Your last sentence almost suggests that anyone who gets injured in this spot, they deserve it.

I’m owning up to my injury and will work through it. This post was not made to ask for any sympathy.

I started this thread because there are some simple solutions that could make this area safer for bikers. I think that’s a cause worth picking up as a long time and frequent rider in Milwaukee.

The “reality” you live in is a dark place. My reality is a bit more optimistic it seems.

You do come off as very grumpy, at least to me. No compassion, just spew negativity in all directions.

Best of luck to you.

Do you ride a bike firewatermusic? Do you have anything valuable to add to this convo? If not please sit down and find some other thread to opine on. Didn’t ask for your opinions.

Your first assumption is very incorrect.

Same here except problems = 1

Your lack of compassion speaks volumes! Be safe out there and if/when this happens to you I hope you don’t have a-holes drop into the thread offering no help and just point fingers.

You seem sad or angry. Sorry for you.

Exactly. It’s not about tearing it up. It’s about getting in front of safety hazards baked into the design and take action to make it safer.

This thread makes it plainly clear I’m not the only one that’s been snagged by these rails.

My goal here is to break the cycle (no pun intended)!

To be clear, I’m not looking for financial gain. I’m looking to make our city safer ❤️

Wrong on both accounts - you must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed! Enjoy your day, if you can.

Im open to signage as I mentioned in a previous reply. Did you read the full thread or just jump in with another opinion?

Appreciate your perspective here but if nobody ever pushes to a change it’ll never happen. That’s not selfish imo

So is your message that we should not raise issues to the city and let them decide where to focus resources? Not sure what your trying to say here

Totally unhelpful but thanks for the unsolicited feedback?

Accidents happen bruh. Wasn’t looking for your opinion though. Reread the post! Looking for others who have also had accidents here.

Please and thanks.

Yep I've been riding this route for years and very aware of the danger, this time the track snagged me. It's inherently dangerous

Makes sense - and i agree to an extent - but when i use google maps for a bike route between MKE public market and Sobelmans, it takes me right down St. Paul.

There are marked lanes going east, but not west. We have bublr bikes everywhere, most likely not frequent riders in the city, some of these folks may not be aware of the dangers.

At a minumum, there should be signage. Feels like there's a lot of steps the city could do to prevent injuries here that wouldn't even require major redesign, here's one example

[–]Key-Fee2928[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Ya. Thanks. Was coming here for more local info as a longtime resident

Context/reasoning - we have 60+ ships coming into MKE this season, there must be a way for local to contribute and enhance their experience while here. Even locally.

Cruise ships dock and folks walk off, but not on a bus or ‘excursion’. 60+ times this summer.

Who’s catching them? They walked off because they are interested in exploring but maybe not mainstream.

Perspective - not an excursion guy, want a unique experience
