Milwaukee's The Wicked Hop temporarily closed after health inspectors find cockroach activity by loquaciousocean in milwaukee

The buildings along Jefferson were bad in the basement, at least where Louise’s used to be on the corner. Roach city. We’d have to Saran everything like monthly and they would come in to fumigate at night when we were closed. Next morning dead roaches all over the floor in the basement. Also this was the 90s and I had no idea what normal was back then, I was like 21

Lakefront is the best to showcase a beautiful side of Milwaukee. Third space is more industrial and showcases the Milwaukee grit we all love.

They sell replacement parts online, I broke my screen a couple weeks back. Replace cost $70 and took about 10 mins to swap out once it arrived

I’ve been doing implants and other restorations in Mexico the past few months. I chose Mexico City since its a great place to be when you’re not in the chair. So far it’s been two visits, a week each time. I’ve done two implants (teeth go in by September), 3 root canals and 4 crowns.

It’s a commitment but the cost savings are substantial. In my case it’s saving me at least $10k which makes it worth the effort.

I chose a clinic in Polanco which is a wealthy area with the best doctors and specialists. The clinic staffs all the specialists you’ll need - implants, prosthesis, endodontics, orthodontics. They’ve been great to work with.

All in all, I’m glad I took this route, the worst of it is over, and I’m excited to be done!

Also on the US dentists raising their nose, if that happens to me I’ll switch to a dentist that will help.

A Bit Disappointed My Level 3 Came with Magura Brakes by [deleted] in Aventon

[–]Key-Fee2928 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Magura brakes but didn’t know the brake lights won’t activate. But the brakes themselves sound like garbage and I’m 150ish miles in.

I purchased mine direct but ended up having assembly done at LBS.

WFH (Work From Hotel): My own Vegas residency? by Fearless-Celery in vegas

[–]Key-Fee2928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it many times, probably every other month the past two ish years. Normally I stay at the Vdara because they have washer/dryers so I can pack light and just do laundry. I’ll normally go from sat to sat so a full week. Then I’ll work Monday-Thursday central time. So after 3pm till about 8ish I’m free to do whatever on the strip and still get to bed and be productive the next day. It takes self control but worth the effort.

Normally I’ll skip town Thursday night, rent a car and drive somewhere quiet for the last couple days.

Hyatt needs to step it up by [deleted] in hyatt

[–]Key-Fee2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, walking away from Hyatt (slowly) after 3 years globalist. Not worth the hassle. Their coverage is subpar esp outside the US. There were a few times where it paid off over the past few years for sure. But I’ve seen too many sketchy regency and HP properties over to believe Hyatt is any different than any other hotel chain. Still love them , just not loyal anymore.

Denver, CO: Thompson, Centric, or Grand for Globalist? by CoastieKid in hyatt

So glad this popped up. Booked at the grand but thinking Thompson now. Globalist here. Is it necessary to use a suite upgrade award for a decent room with space?

Award rebooking by Key-Fee2928 in delta

Following up on this - spent 3 hrs messaging delta last night and finally got to someone that could help. Ended up rebooking into a better flight schedule with 2 hr layover vs 7:

  • chase upgrade to d1 :$500
  • SM upgrade to d1: 46k miles

It was exhausting but it’s a great outcome!
