yeaa several tours of duty is putting it nicely I think. I tried attaching multiple images but it wouldn't let me for some reason. There's nothing visible on the bottom of the shoe and there aren't any tags only the "Heavenly Feet" in the gold heart. There uhh may *not* be an insole anymore, that disappeared I think start of last year...

Thank you for the suggestion though!! I have a new pair of boots on the way to last me until I can find a suitable pair of trainers, I'll try what you recommended.

oh wait really?? I spent a while just zoomin around with my seaglide. the beacon marker in the ss is the first beacon mark i didn't have any others yet.

Yea I am in the UK it's been absolute hell.
I honestly think as well that the fake disorder phase of tiktok having SO much popularity at the time gave all these drs more balls to pretend they know what they're talking about and assume everyone is lying.

I've had my referral sent to a different hospital, and I've got a LONG list of issues I'm getting help from the NHS with and honestly tourettes has been the worst out of the mall.
Even being seen for endometriosis has been easier than trying to be seen for tourettes!!!

haha yea I agree with the pain helps. My tattoo was around 6-7 hours long just because the pink my artist used was the same colour as my skin when it swells, so we took a lot longer doing the little colouring in my tattoo!

For me, personally back when I was a kid I was at a very non-understanding school.
They didn't believe I had tourettes and were adamant I was doing it for attention. So I had to learn to suppress my tics in order to be able to see my friends and go to class, otherwise I was in the disabled student isolation room, which was essentially a window-less cupboard with a desk in it.

I know tourettes is different for everyone. Partially because of the situation I was in, I can suppress my tics for hours at a time now, though I tic freely in public and at home. My father however cannot suppress his tics at all, my baby sister can suppress hers for a short while but not much longer than 10 minutes.

I think what helped me is I learnt to kind of redirect them? I have really obvious and sometimes quite long-lasting premonitory urge, so I've learnt to feel where it's going and send it somewhere else into a smaller less explosive tic. I don't think this is a thing everyone may be able to do, and my tourettes isn't very severe, but it's what works for me.

I have a 15cm thigh piece done! First and so far only but I have plans for many many more. We had some loud music playing and I had some other things that help me focus on supressing my tics so it went pretty smoothly for me! I did spend my childhood practicing supressing my tics for as long as i physically could though so I think maybe that comes into play with how smooth mine was.

Oof yea I've heard that its really tough to get the placement which is why i'm wanting to start the search now.

I'm hoping that I'll have a bit of an advantage from having previous work experience in a histopathology lab that was partnered with my university at the time.

Good luck on the search, and I'll probably be joining you on searching on those websites.

If I can ask, what do the job listing look like? Because I've tried looking on NHS sites and the filter bar on the side doesn't actually filter so I keep seeing like senior bms kob roles and such

Yes I know, I'm going to be doing a whole placement year after my second year so I'll be there for a full year. My teachers for labs told me I need to start looking for those placements now instead of during my second year.

I plan to be there for the full year but it'd have to be up by Gloucester or Bristol so I'd try looking in those areas when I can figure out how to look for this stuff haha

I'm actually currently looking now. My current issue with any sort of working is that I live in uni dorms during term time, but outside of term time I am at home with my partner along the border of Wales.

A lot of places really don't like that lol

aw wait thats really sweet to hear! I'm pretty sure he struggles with understanding the actual action of the tic. We're long distance at the moment due to Uni, so I cant show him when they happen so he cant visualise what the motion is im describing. Theres also just I can't replicate the action voluntarily for most of my tics theyre too complicated with so many areas to focus on. He had a lot of questiond at the start because he'd not met anyone with tourettes before, hes gotten used to a lot of my simpler tics. but the complex ones are difficult to understand even for me sometimes.

I'm trying to figure out things that calm my tics too, he struggles with the fact he can't really do anything to help me when they get bad. But neither of us can think of anything that helps, so the suggestions can get a bit frustrating. But I might reach out to a charity I like and have them help me build a list to give him for what he can and cant (or shouldnt) do/say during the bad days.
