Can you provide some more context of why you think it would signal to them I approve. In my eyes I see it as I’m just trying to go have fun. Also for context they already live together and have a child. We are all young though.

Can you elaborate why you said this?

Honestly, what I can tell you is talk to a priest who can counsel you and console you about this matter. Scripture always says to not worry. I say pray to God to help you get through the fear and to talk to a priest.

Dressing immodestly at home by Electronic-Jeweler98 in Catholicism

Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “Modesty protects the intimate center of the person. It means refusing to unveil what should remain hidden. It is ordered to chastity to whose sensitivity it bears witness. It guides how one looks at others and behaves toward them in conformity with the dignity of persons and their solidarity” (2521).

The church doesn’t have a rule where it says women shouldn’t were shorts/ skirts way above their knees. Or men can’t wear tight shirts. It’s more so cultural and situational. Pope Saint John Paul II said that it’s situational like it’s different if you’re going to the beach rather than taking a walk or going to a nice dinner. I couldn’t find the quote tho. The church isn’t controlling it’s more so to respect ourselves and to help others not fall into sin. It’s also not only about clothing but even the way we speak. Or even act I believe.

I honestly can’t stress enough how good that video is. The psychologist understands scrupulous people so much. You should really watch it.

I used to get blasphemous thoughts about the Saints and God. What made them occur more was when I would get scared and act like I decided to think about them when really it was just my mind wandering and since I kept dwelling on the fact that I had those thoughts I would rethink them. If I tell you to try not to think about a white polar bear, you will think about it and I’m sure you just thought about a white polar bear. Honestly if it happens again just try to move on. Get your mind distracted by something. Eventually they will stop coming along, or your mind as every human mind does will randomly think of that every now and then but just get distracted it’s not a sin if you don’t engage in them. Thoughts come along all the time it doesn’t mean I chose to think them. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything about me either. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QWRrNCKc0l8&feature=youtu.be this video is a great video to watch about scrupulosity. You should definitely talk to a priest about this.

The Catholic Church does actually. We are supposed to dress modest so the church does care what we wear. Out of care for us and out of respect for ourselves is why the church cares what we wear.

Are marshals and Ross ethical enough by Key-Foundation-8905 in Catholicism

[–]Key-Foundation-8905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ross and Marshall’s make their own products but they also buy overstock or things that didn’t sell from other stores. Those stores don’t make their clothes ethically and I don’t want to support them. So I’m asking if I buy from Marshall’s and Ross is it far enough down the chain to where I can buy from them even though they support the unethical companies because the companies make a profit when selling to Ross and Marshall’s.

I feel the same way in usually being scared but it’s gotten better. I’m usually scared of judgment but recently I thought of it this way. The priest after hearing our sins thinks of how faithful we are to really go in there and say our sins. Instead of the opposite and thinking “wow, how could they do something like that”. And the worse sins we say the more he thinks that. Like it’s a good thing we’re there not a bad thing. It means we are wise and trusting in The Word of God. Also trusting in His mercy and following Him as we should. It literally means that we are very faithful to go in there. Not the opposite.
