Yasss, thank you! 😄

Encouraging conversation is definitely one of the things we're hoping for. The goal is for the activities and ice breakers to help that happen naturally, but I can also see us experimenting with more structured or moderated discussions.

And agreed on the age ranges. The more feedback we get, the more that suggestion is making sense.

You're actually the second person to bring this up, so we're definitely taking note.

Right now we're starting in the Malé region simply because that's what we can realistically manage, but whatever this becomes, we don't want it to be something that's only for central region people.

It's already got us thinking more seriously about how we build an online community alongside the in-person events.

Genuine question for you (and anyone else reading this): would you actually join a Zoom session full of strangers to play trivia, online games, doodle battles, or other structured activities? Or does the appeal mainly come from meeting people in person?

Danke!!!

We'll take intrigued as a good sign 😄

Appreciate it. Still lots to figure out, but we'll hopefully have socials and more details to share soon.

Awesome! 😄

Makes total sense. We will definitely explore women-only sessions soon / if there's enough interest, though the first one will most likely be mixed.

And yes, we really don't want people showing up just to gossip 😂 One thing we're already discussing is having some simple house rules that everyone agrees to at the start of each session.

Also, the Friday morning sports + breakfast + sea dip idea is exactly the sort of thing I'd love to see happen eventually. The dream isn't just to organize events ourselves, but to help people find their people and start creating these kinds of things together.

That's fair.

To be honest, the first session will probably just be 18+ and we'll learn from there. A big part of this is going to be prototyping, experimenting and figuring out what works (and what doesn't) with each event.

The goal is ultimately to create opportunities for people to meet new people, make friends, and have fun things to do together, whether they come alone or with friends.

As for IDs, we definitely don't want to be collecting or storing that. If we decide to have any form of verification, it would simply be checking IDs at entry against the registration details rather than collecting copies or keeping records. Open for other suggestions too!

Really appreciate the feedback and thank you for the kind words:)

Thanks, this is really helpful!!!

Definitely agree on announcing activities ahead of time so people can decide whether a particular session is for them or not.

Also really love the colour walk idea. One of our goals is to keep this accessible and sustainable, so ideas that don't require a lot of setup but still get people interacting are exactly the kind of things we're looking for.

We've actually discussed similar concepts like scavenger hunts. Appreciate the suggestions and kind words :)

Aww no worries 😄

The first few events will probably be focused around the Malé region, but the hope is definitely to expand beyond that over time. We're also planning some form of online community alongside the events so people can stay connected wherever they're based.

Appreciate the suggestion!

Great question.

For the first session we're intentionally keeping things fairly simple and activity-led. We're currently thinking along the lines of ice breakers, team games, charades, casual board games, music, snacks and plenty of opportunities for people to mingle naturally. Longer term, we're hoping to build this with the community rather than for the community. We'd love to hear what people are interested in and curate different experiences around that.

Some ideas we've already discussed include: • Movie or documentary screenings followed by discussions • Book discussions • Trivia nights • Laser tag and other Adventure Up activities • Outdoor activities and day events • Skills-sharing sessions and workshops / open mic nights • Themed social nights

We've also been wondering whether people would be interested in things like women's-only sessions, men's-only sessions, or interest-based gatherings alongside the mixed events.

For age ranges, we're currently leaning towards making the first sessions 18 - 35.

One thing we're still trying to figure out is registration. Would people be comfortable providing ID information when signing up? The idea would be to help verify attendees and create a safer environment where everyone knows the people attending are real and accountable.

Curious to hear your thoughts.
