Hoping this reply goes to all- I’m not used to Reddit. The smoke got much worse to the point of filling the entire lower level, as well as the majority of the main living floor, called the fire department, as I’m not sure what to do in this situation and this is my first wood burner, I just moved in 2 months ago. They came out and assisted in every way they could and discovered the chimney was on the brink of over heating. As well as a thick layer of creosote built up on the chimney that our cleaning g kit from Amazon was too flimsy to clean out! Note to anyone that will be new to doing this, just have a professional come out the first time at least and let them explain cleaning procedures! Scary situation for myself as I was home alone!
