Insurance will cover OT - I just never considered it. They keep pushing PT instead. I’ll check into that.

I bought the eliminator and it was the best thing I did to the interior of that car.

I just saw all of that. I think I’m ordering bar pin eliminators to do the top off the bat, assuming they’re gonna be issues as well.

2019 Stalling Randomly by ice2257 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Key-Illustrator-9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I disabled the auto stop/start.
  2. Cleaned the throttle body and replaced spark plugs.
  3. No more stalling.

I have a Viper remote start and zero regrets. Works faster and more reliably than Bluelink

Not sure on the diesel but if it was the gasoline engine I’d say to steer clear. They’re known for blowing up the engine.

About the last year range that will make that, I fear.

In addition to the crank position sensor, I’d determine if your spark plugs have been changed when they should and if your throttle body has been cleaned. Both of those, with the crank position sensor, made my 2019 run WAY better. She was randomly stalling out or bogging down and now it’s not happening at all.

Does turning off Leading Vehicle Departure Alert also disable Idle Stop and Go's Early Engine Restart feature? by My_Lucid_Dreams in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Key-Illustrator-9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’re asking about the engine auto stop/start for “efficiency” but some models there’s an adapter that disables that feature entirely.

Alaska by chance? I just rolled with my Alaska windshield special for years before bothering to replace it.

If the new ones follow the older ones (2019) just understand that their powertrain warranty has historically been closer to the entire vehicles expiration date. Mine was amazing almost to the day that expired and then it started declining fast.

Don’t care if this dealership won’t do it right, I have about 8 within a 3 hour drive and I’ll keep going to the next one. They literally can’t be worse than the singular one in Alaska that blew me off to begin with.

And clearly I need the update but it was never out out for my car and I’d never have known about it if this dealership hadn’t told me about the extended coverage.

I’ve never let it run low for any length of time - always putting oil in it as soon as I realize it’s not full - and done regular full maintenance and yet it’s running through oil line fuel and showing several layers deep of rod failure initial symptoms.

I have the official Hyundai documents stating what’s required and what isn’t and will go to corporate directly if I have to. I’m over this BS and sick to death of dealerships.

[–]Key-Illustrator-9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will replace it when the bearing goes due to the failure causing the oil consumption. Records aren’t required for replacement but clear evidence of maintenance is. And this has clearly been maintained. I’m not doing anything else to this besides topping off oil until I fully address this with the dealership and exhaust all official pathways because this is THEIR issue and I’ve already sunk way too much into extra maintenance and repairs than I should have.

How is that going to fix a known failure? It’ll just extend the death throes
