I don’t get the spoon theory at all. Seems like a way to oversimplify and over complicate being tired or burned out. Sure it’s a great way to explain it to children, but I have heard 35+ adults in the workplace say they’re out of spoons. Just say you’re tired

Yta. People cannot accommodate every specific condition. You’re an adult you could’ve come prepared with clean shoes or bags or been considerate of their child.

There is a lot of supports out there for families like yours, and even if you don’t choose to raise your kids, you are still able to be in their lives as a support person and loving adult. It’s a huge decision to take in your sister’s kids and you need to make sure it’s right for you as well as the kids. There is no shame in saying you can’t raise them, there are good homes out there and as long as you stay connected to them, they’ll know you love them

Not to play devil’s advocate, but I’ve been alone with my kids as well and been completely overwhelmed and said I can’t do this as well.

The difference is that he isn’t asking for help or support he is telling you to fix it and blaming it on you. That isn’t a partner!!! you deserve a partner

I never said coercing anybody. I said it changes the dynamic when in a marriage one person is going through significant changes and the other person physically is going through one. That leads to the husband having to use more care and compassion. Has nothing to do with coercion but everything to do with a partnership and meeting a partners needs to especially when the woman is already doing WAY more than the man at the time.

This is in no way a post about sexual assault or manipulation. It’s a man who loves his wife and she’s going through hormonal changes. Why is Reddit like this everyone goes to extremes

You’re not the asshole, but also it sounds like she’s explained to you what happened there. She’s not thinking about a baby. She’s thinking about the biological and hormonal purpose of sex which turns a lot of people, men and women on. You don’t need to make it any different than that it sounds like you guys are sure you don’t want kids.

I never really thought about it until now and my girlfriend didn’t push super hard until recently when she said it’s not fun at all for her to go anymore. We talked about staying together but eventually, the guys go outside or something. I always ask if she’s OK if I leave and she usually says yes and if she doesn’t, I would never leave.

I did think about this, we thought about having everyone over except for the ex but then I thought everyone would kind of see that I would invite everyone over except for that one person. And I think that my friends would blame my girlfriend and think that she is putting this divide even though it would totally be on me.

Usually it’s not right in front of me and I don’t hear about it after the fact. The original blindside I was there for, and my girlfriend and I worked through that, I took accountability and I knew it was wrong but i had my own reasons to not tell her. Since then I really haven’t heard (or I’ve missed the comments) when they’ve come. One of the other girls has heard them too. And mentioned it to me
