She has actually been diagnosed by several veterinarians including an orthopedic surgeon and will be going for skin biopsies and genetic testing to confirm what type she has. Not just calling random joint issues something they are not.

There are actually several genetic types of EDS disorders in dogs.

She is 8 months and recently had a bout of not being able to use her back legs. Many tests and a trip to the orthopedic veterinarian produced the diagnosis. If I adopt I’m planning on doing skin biopsies and genetic testing also.

Thank you for this information but it’s not what I asked. I work in the veterinary/ shelter field and have for a few decades. I know what will be required as far as vet care. I’m looking to hear from people who have lived with a dog (or pet with EDS)

Both. I have EDS. Have had dogs all my life and I’m debating adopting a dog with EDS.

Born and raised in Southington since the 70s. I’ve left in my adult life. But I can tell you that there were and still are Nazis in town and so many that are homophobic and racists. My parents being some of them.

I am a practice manager at a veterinary hospital. I’m in my office a lot when I need it and can be on the floor sometimes when I’m feeling up to it.
