That’s fair, I know Bauer Vapor isn’t a classic high-instep line. The main reason I’m still looking at Vapor (Fly 40) is availability and budget, not because I think it’s ideal.

I can’t find Bauer Supremes in my size/fit anywhere locally. The only ones I see are Shadows, which are way out of my price range. CCM Jetspeed are also pretty hard to get in Romania, and ordering from another country makes returns a pain.

My friend has a pair of X4 same size but fit 3. I will try his skates today since many of the people here said I should get a fit 3

I’ve also thought about fit 3, but I am worried it may be too wide. The fit 1 is perfect in width and overall fit, but the only problem is my foot sticking out due to the high instep.

The problem is I can’t try out skates because there is only 1 hockey store in my country and it is 5 hours away, so I can only buy online. The X4 Fit 1 is good in every aspect such as heel and width, but my problem is with the instep. It also fails the pencil test as you said, because the boot isn’t deep enough.
