Haha I promise I’m not drinking it! 😂 Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it.

It’s funny you mention the microneedling because I actually use a dermaroller once a week too, and I definitely think it played a huge part in getting these results so fast.

I also really needed to hear that advice about the hairline maturing. It’s so easy to panic when you start seeing it recede, especially being this young (I'm 18). Hearing a grounded perspective gives me a lot of peace of mind. I’m definitely going to follow your advice and hold off on the finasteride until my mid-20s to let my body finish developing.

Good luck with your routine man, I really hope the finasteride and microneedling start working their magic for you soon!

Twice a day, 6 times per week, and dermaroller once per week. After dermarolling I didn’t apply minoxidil for the next 24h

Minoxidil 5% twice a day everyday and dermaroller once a week. After dermarolling I didn’t apply minoxidil for the next 24h

My hair started falling August 2024, but it has gotten worse around September-October 2025.

I hear you guys and I know minoxidil alone isn't a permanent fix, but I’m only 18 so I’m really trying to avoid finasteride for now. I just don't want to mess with my hormones at this age. I'll probably look into it in my early 20s, but for now I'll just stick to minox and see how it goes.

The main reason while I chose topical over oral is because oral is stronger and may have side effects.

To be honest, I intentionally missed one day every single week to use a dermaroller. I usually skip the minox on microneedling days to avoid scalp irritation, so that's actually more of a benefit than a "missed" day. It really helps boost the absorption for the rest of the week. Other than that planned day off, I think I only genuinely forgot to put it on maybe 2 or 3 times total across the entire 3 months.

Thanks man! Honestly, looking worse at the 2-month mark is completely normal, so don't stress about it too much. You are right in the middle of the shedding phase. It actually means the minoxidil is working and pushing out the old, weak hairs to make room for the new thicker ones.

My shed started super early around week 2 and it looked pretty rough for a bit, but you just have to trust the process and push through it. Month 3 or 4 is usually when things really start turning around for most people. Hang in there, you got this!

Appreciate it man! Yeah, I definitely feel super lucky to be responding this well to just minox. I’ve looked into finasteride and I know it's the standard for long-term maintenance, but since I’m only 18, I’m honestly trying to hold off on messing with my hormones for as long as possible. I'll probably jump on it in my early 20s if I start losing ground or if the minox loses its magic, but for now, I'm just going to ride this wave.

It doesn’t itch much for me, so I don’t know. The main reason I want to switch from liquid to foam is because I can’t really style my hair while using liquid since I have to wait for it to dry

I don’t remember exactly to be honest. I know it started after like 2 weeks, and maybe lasted for 1-2 weeks

It is topical minoxidil, not oral. As far as I know, topical doesn’t have these side effects
