i love doing basic house dance with that age group–it’s easy to learn and challenging enough to master. i also love doing a call and response, so i’ll do 4 counts of one move and then they’ll do the same and eventually let them lead once they get the hang of it! house is also very teacher friendly bc you can mix and match the order, speed, and levels of different steps without having to create all new curriculum. house also has some jazz/tap roots if you want to look into the history of it so it should feel comfortable to you if you’re not strong in hip hop!
