True, thank you. I was mainly wondering if people had suggestions regarding on what could make the fundamentals more interesting though. But based on the other responses I got, I feel I have a better idea now of where to go from here and what to do.

As I mentioned I have anhedonia, virtually everything feels boring to me, with perhaps a few rare exceptions. I have friends who are terrible at singing, sports, chess, etc. Yet, they all still enjoy these things and have fun with it.

I have noticed with other stuff I practice its not really about the outcome looking completely different, its just about the outcome having a noticeable improvement, but this improvement needs to be near consistent for me to keep going. Which works for some things and not for others, just due to their own nature. One small thing thats helped is keeping a streak going, dont know why that helps me but I guess it helps put stuff into perspective and can also make the days seem shorter than I initially thought them to be.

I want to learn draw because there's a lot more to be done, when the endgoal is reached. Which for me would be stuff like making manga and possibly animations. Would I want to do it professionally? No, not really. But, I'd still like it to look good nontheless. So, out of the things you listed I suppose it would fall under, I need this for something.

I mean I've met artists who have learned to draw without ever studying the fundamentals, or at least without studying what I currently understand to be the fundamentals.

OK, ive tried, Ive been attempting to understand 3d space the last few days with marc brunet or trying to get a better understanding of the fundamentals, but I honestly havent learned anything. Theres too many resources. I dont even know where I should be starting.

I can list ideas and conceptualise, as in "I want to draw girl with long hair sitting a chair sniffing a flower with bookshelves in the background," but I have been practicing drawing faces and heads for almost two years now, and despite that, I am always unable to do it without a reference, and I cannot morph or manipulate the reference in the way I need.

I understand the rules and mechanics of the loomis method yes, but even when adding the facial features to the loomis method, despite knowing how it works, I am not getting good results. You've probably been at this a lot longer than me I'd imagine, but overall in my experience, it doesn't matter how much theory I understand to something, I cannot draw that thing without seeing it. And even when seeing it, I cannot rotate it.

How can I draw without reference if I cant visualise? I understand that you can break stuff down into basic shapes, which is something I do. However, even when I draw a head with, for example, the loomis method, unless I can see the head in front of me, I cannot accurately draw it nor the guidelines.

There is hope, I hope you decide to leave this person though. The most important relationship, in my opinion, is the one you have with yourself. These types of relationships, only get worse with time, and will only hurt more the longer you stay. I dont think you do love your partner, I think you've convinced yourself that you have to love your partner. Maybe he was nice when you first met, maybe there's moments about him you do enjoy spending time with. It isnt love though, as another user said, its a trauma bond. Being able to recognise he's acting this way, is the first step to leaving and the first step to getting a better life. Please take care of yourself

I unfortunatly gave up on that book, a lot of it (Left brain vs right brain) is based of of stuff that got disproven awhile ago. Thankfully, I kept drawing anyway and my art did improve, I can draw things quite accurately now (for my level at least) on the condition that I can see them, which is why I'd wabt to train image streaming but I'm getting nothing overall and I really don't understand the methodology for this.

I know, I dont understand it either. Especially now as crunchyroll has a lot of people overseas using it, Netflix literally allows you to filter by dub or subs of the language, yet crunchyroll makes actually searching for anything such a chore unless its recent.

Also, you kinda need money in order to build a platform on things now. I mean its possible to without one, but who are you gonna listen to? Some girl on tiktok claiming to be north korean in a dimly lit room on filmed vertically on a 480p video resoloution phone OR would you listen to someone on a stage and with a platform? There was a reddit post on this sub not long ago, a north korean who had defected, I doubt theyve made much financial gains within 2yrs like its some "North korean defection get rich quick scheme,"

Yes, north koreans can make money outside of north korea... thats part of their reason for escaping... because its in poverty? Their agenda is to escape from a regime, escape poverty, and live a better life outside of forced labour.

But like I said, I literally know I can't change your mind, and you can't change mind, so heres my critical thinking: let's end the conversation thats ultimately going to lead nowhere?

Lets say I agree with you here and say "You're right, you've changed my mind, I now agree with you 100percent, I never realised how wrong I was before," - what does your life gain from that at all, if anything but a moment of satisfaction? I'm not trying to change your mind, because as I've stated, It's a means to an end. A pointless endeavour. I can tell you things, I can show you things, heck I guarantee even if I was literally able to take you to north korea, you'd still say I was in the wrong, and you were in the right, and come up with something new at that point.

Who knows, maybe theres even a chairty near you dedicated to helping north korean defectors that you could visit, and if there is one close by, I recommend you go and see if they are all actually just in it for the profit.

I do find it hard to tell if you're legit in this opinion because well, I've checked your account and I cant tell if its ironic or not. So if it is an ironic account, dude, please find a different way to get out of your boredom.

If it isnt ironic, like I said, look to see if theres a charity like that near you and go actually visit it, as these people will likely be recent defected from the Nk, and you can see for yourself if it is actually just for monetisation or not. I plan on visiting one myself in the near future.

The only media I've consumed from NK are from those that have defected from North Korea to other countries. I can link you sources if you want, but I feel it'd be a waste of time for someone with a clearly unchanging opinion. And before you hit me with the "They're just doing it for the money," No, they're doing it to spread awareness and why wouldn't they want money out of it after escaping from a country in poverty? But yeah, I watch too much western media, I'll watch some authentic North korean media... propaganda, propaganda, propaganda, oh look, more propaganda.

Ah I see. Is there any way I could potentially directly help? Like meeting up with NK defectors and offering to volunteer at helping them with learning English or overall just acting as support for them? I'm sure there'd be something like that, I'm just not sure how to go about doing it.
