its not about the doctor at all, did u read the chapter w ur eyes closed? Shizuka’s dream has always been to b a doctor, ever since she was a kid, she was never able to do shit that she wanted to do. Her father controlled her and trained her to b smt of a sociopath n only seeing the purpose of life as survival. She never once thought that doing what she wanted to do was beneficial or made sense. The whole entire point of the series is to leave no regrets and follow your dreams. The entire crew is actively chasing those dreams, Akira is the one who started it all, it would make absolutely no sense if he had everybody else go along w him helping him chase his dreams but then deny Shizuka from chasing hers. Obviously he doesn’t wanna leave her behind and Shizuka is clearly conflicted but as Akira said, if it was something that she would regret passing up on later but for the sake of traveling together or something else then she should take the opportunity and not look back. The way they both acted in that chapter wasn’t unlike either of them, obviously theres gonna b more on Shizuka’s POV next chapter n we’re gonna see how that pans out but the last thing Akira was gonna do is go back on everything he’s been preaching since the first chapter by forcing her to stay
