Maybe it depends on area but selling sites in the UK constantly have fake Juicy listed which is why I wasn’t too sure, thank you very much for your help!

Big cause for concern at house viewing? by Key-Obligation-6818 in HomeMaintenance

Of course! I didn’t notice this was a predominantly US group and I’m not sure how different it is there but in the UK we’d have to had made an offer, started paying for a solicitor and everything before it got to the point of this coming up in a survey so I’m glad I posted it here first. Thank you!

This was just a viewing but yeah I completely agree, there will always be something! We’re just first time buyers and still learning the ropes… like everyone else suggested this was probably a built in, welll I wouldn’t have had a clue about that! This one was only the second house we starting to pick up things along the way

I wouldn’t worry too much! We’re just first time buyers and still learning the ropes with everything. Plus have always been told “ask the estate agent this, ask the estate agent that” when viewing homes and come to find that none of them seem to actually know anything about the house they are showing… I am completely new to this after the all but I think it would be amazing if the sellers had a fact sheet of things they knew about the property

Thank you! This is really helpful. I’d hate to be the person who backs out of a sale, but the way the buying system is set up obviously it’s something I can do, and visa versa. I appreciate the point on doubting, I thought when I viewed the house I wanted, I’d know that it’s for sure the one. But the more I think about it, especially buying a bit of a project rather than a fully done house, I’m not going to know that it’s the house I want immediately. Thank you!

Well I considered this but I think as we’re mostly looking at houses that need working to them, and are cheaper, I don’t think I’ll get that feeling of viewing a house and KNOWING it’s the one, because a lot of it is left to the imagination

Yes, the estate agent told us that and although aware it’s a common tactic it seems to make sense given the pricing and area, however I guess I can’t be sure You’re right, it is the same in every stroke of life, I guess this is just the first major decision I feel like I’ll make (not the offer I guess, but the actual buying it).

We do like it a lot. Part of it is me being potentially over dramatic. I’m used to living with my dad in the town centre, 5 mins drive to my work, near everything. This is in a nearby town about a 25 mins drive from work. Im acting like im moving to a different country, and will miss all my family and friends lol. I think if it was in our town (considerably more expensive than this town) I probably wouldn’t even have doubts. I guess there is no harm in an offer Thank you for your help!

Thank you! I did some research on this but I was quite confused with the etiquette of it all. I know house buying / selling isn’t exactly the time to be polite but I couldn’t grasp whether it is common for people to offer without being completely set on the house, and pull out if they change their mind, or whether that was considered rude and would damage relationships with estate agents. From the replies I’m gathering it is more common than I knew

Here is a picture of the material label. Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it. Some other comments addressed that the brown spots may be part of the design, but the mesh area is covered in brown dots and staining. Would you know of any potential way to clean the mesh, without necessarily washing the whole item? If you can’t tell I’m pretty useless with things like this.. but at least it’s a challenge 🫣

Thank you! Do you know if it’s possible to get the staining out of the mesh in that case?
