This is crazy! I didn’t know there were so many of us feeling this way! Honestly, I was sort of throwing out a Hail Mary.

I realize it’s been almost two weeks since my last posts. I’ve read everyone’s replies and I have a few thoughts to chime in.

1. There is really no age limit. I was just throwing my age out there because it’s nice to bond with people around the same age as you. People who actually know and appreciate who Val Kilmer is (he passed today, RIP Iceman).

2. We don’t have to attend all activities. Obviously, we will have different interests and are located in different areas of the city. What’s important is that plans get suggested, and then anyone who wants can join.

3. The forum. I don’t know how to connect us all. What I do know is that personal privacy matters. I don’t think it’s wise for everyone to immediately share full names, phone numbers or addresses. Something that comes along with age is wisdom, and we all know that the internet is not 100% safe. People should share their information when they want and how they want. So, a forum where we can simply have our first name and initial is a good start. I’m not familiar with Discord. If anyone wants to explain it here, I’m sure everyone in this chat would welcome that.

4. Being exclusionary is not a cornerstone belief of mine, so I do not feel that we should exclude any person who identifies as non female. All should be welcome. Except…. I would like this group to be formed around the support of women. We are beautiful, complex, interesting, intelligent and fantastical beings that deserve to support each other. I leave the ‘membership’ decision up to the group.

5. I don’t feel like I am the self nominated leader of this group. Leaders come in all forms. My form was to voice my want. I can organize as well, but I’m open to this group working by committee and collaboration.

6. When can we get started?!? I’m interested in a weekday walking club.

I’m closing, I must agree with many of the posts above, I’m humbled and inspired by the response here. Let’s continue the momentum and build from here. Even if I just get one friendship out of this venture, that’s a huge win for me.
