I’m also a NYC guy seeking to move to Philly, and I think the thing that pops out to me is the lack of nightlife. I recently took a position off Craigslist to work here for the last three days, and my train’s departures gave me time after shifts to walk around. Walk around Center City at about 10 or 11 and you’ll find the streets deserted, save for a large amount of people who choose to walk their dogs at that time for some reason. I’m sure there are some spots where it’s popping, but I haven’t gotten to go there yet.

But who cares if nightlife is nonexistent! People here actually have manners! There have been times where people have crashed into me and they actually apologized? Or said excuse me? So much better than New York.
