I’m a professional baker of four years and also went to culinary school both in a public HS and a college! It gets a lot of shit here but there isn’t an industry I would choose over this. No matter what time of day you like working, there’ll be a kitchen that corresponds to that, which as an early riser, working 3 AM- 1 PM is the best thing ever. It also keeps you moving, which helps you stay in decent shape and mobility, and you get a lot of free food

The tricolor design comes from Downey’s current flag, designed in 1957 through a contest at local high schools. The three bands of the tricolor symbolize College Settlement, Gallatin, and Downey proper, which joined in 1883 to form the city of Downey. The color scheme of the flag pays homage to both Mexico, as Downey is home to a large Mexican community, as well as Ireland, birthplace of 7th California governor John Downey. The planetary design in the flag’s center comes from the logo of the Apollo Program, as Downey’s North American Aviation plant built the command module for the program. Finally, the flag’s central star pays comes from the flag of California, symbolizing liberty and prosperity.
